One of the things I dislike about Envato is that not all contributors maintain the same level of professionalism and transparency. Sometimes, assets are advertised as complete source files, but after downloading, they turn out to be only images instead of proper editable files. For example, a PSD file may look promising in the preview, but when opened, it contains only filters or flattened layers, making it almost useless for real design work. In a few cases, I have even encountered blank PSD files or poorly structured files, which feels misleading and wastes valuable time. As a designer working on client projects, this can be frustrating, especially when deadlines are tight. While I wouldn’t call Envato a scam platform overall, these occasional misleading uploads from some contributors do reduce trust. Quality control could be stricter to ensure that contributors upload genuine, fully editable source files, exactly as described. Better verification before publishing assets would greatly improve reliability. Another issue is that reporting such assets does not always feel fast or impactful. Faster action on lowquality or misleading content would help protect users.
