**Reviewed by:** Roshak B. | Customer Service Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Eclipse Che?**

The best thing about Eclipse Che from eclipse ide is its convenience. The cloud platform helps developers to reach their project from anywhere and anyone in the development group can access the project for updates and continue the progress. it's better than carrying your workstation everywhere and find hardware every time you need to work on it. also, multiple users at a time is an amazing feature that helps in the faster and coordinated development of project. And the best thing the User Interface is amazing and featureful.

**What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?**

The only thing that I dislike or believe needs to be worked on is the speed of launching the platform. Since it's a cloud-based platform, it takes a lot of time to load and set up for use than previous software-based IDE. Although the software still runs faster than the web-based version.

**Recommendations to others considering Eclipse Che:**

If you know the Eclipse IDE then upgrading to Eclipse Che is very easy and worth it. If you are not familiar with the product and its features then it is not very hard to understand the concept of design to work on this platform. It is easy and convenient and is very helpful for someone that has to travel and work simultaneously.

**What problems is Eclipse Che solving and how is that benefiting you?**

previously with Eclipse IDE, we could not collaborate with each team member virtually to make a project decision at the same time, meetings and update on what is going on were mandatory. but now with Che, we are able to work from home together and that problem is solved. it is one of the best things that happened during a pandemic. it feels like we all are in the same office and working on the project simultaneously with great decisions on the way.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajay S. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Eclipse Che?**

It allows multiple users to access various workspaces and resources. This has a huge impact on organizations with large scattered human resources.
Multiple team members can collaborate efficiently on a single workstation.
While working remotely the collaboration should be smooth. Which is very well insured in Eclipse Che. A team or a user can use their workspace from local IDE as well as the browser.
Administration can control what permissions for the workspace should a given user can have. Which is also a very good feature.
The user interface is easy to understand.
Also, you can deploy from Git.

**What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?**

Eclipse Che comes with Online IDE as well which is slow as compared to desktop.
The user interface is good but I feel sometimes it can be improved.

To collaborate on projects amongst the teammates we use Eclipse Che. Because of its Web-based interface, it is easy for us to collaborate regardless of OS and compatibility.

  ### 24. Eclipse Che is a good IDE for Java developers looking for a cloud platform.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Eclipse Che?**

Eclipse Che is closely tied to Eclipse. It’s still a powerful albeit sometimes slow, free IDE. It has the same quirks Eclipse often has and more often than not gets the job done. Eclipse Che is based around the cloud, allowing multiple users to access the code at the same time. Standard eclipse also offers this feature but at a different scale - it just allows file sync between clients.

**What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?**

Eclipse Che has all of the drawbacks standard Eclipse does too. On slower systems it’s auto-completion runs sub-par compared to some other IDEs, namely, IntelliJ. It does give the big advantage of being able to work completely on the cloud, meaning the time for a project to go live is minimal and isn’t a hassle, but fails utterly short when it randomly crashes or hangs, sometimes resulting in data loss. Its heavy reliance on the server that runs it results in catastrophes when LAN connection breaks for any reason.

**Recommendations to others considering Eclipse Che:**

Eclipse Che isn’t the beefiest developer workspace out there. It doesn’t handle Gradle or Maven the way Eclipse does. Its feature set is rather disappointingly lackluster compared to Eclipse’s competition - but Eclipse Che doesn’t have any competition in its exact league. It’s unique and can save you if you’re tight with time or resources, but it can be glitchy and unreliable from time to time.

**What problems is Eclipse Che solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Eclipse Che is again, a slightly niche product. It’s full potential is unleashed in rushes, where there’s no time to go live and everything has to be built right on the cloud. It’s drawbacks are a big reason not to use Che as a standard IDE, as it really isn’t one. It’s sure a helpful tool that a lot of us love, but has it’s quirks!

  ### 25. Eclipse Che Review

Production of java based software

  ### 27. Amazing

  ### 28. Excellent IDE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chai N. | Sole Proprietor, Computer Games, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2016

**What do you like best about Eclipse Che?**

I enjoy the customizability of the workspace and the dynamic structure of the IDE. Being able to run customized Linux commands with a single click has proven to be very helpful. Not only is it dynamic, but it also has a very clean aesthetic.

**What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?**

I dislike the inability to have custom workspace commands when running a file, such as being able to run the current open python file and what not. Setting up the IDE takes a little more effort than it should, and the IDE has a very long loading time, as opposed to others.

**Recommendations to others considering Eclipse Che:**

If you have a language or module that is not immediately available as a quick option, using an empty project and having custom commands in the Linux command line will act as a custom project. Using Eclipse Che is extremely easy and requires minimal setup. The built-in file linter is very helpful when meeting format standards, such as PEP-008 for Python.

**What problems is Eclipse Che solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer need to look for a platform or IDE on the cloud to edit from and can run anything due to the advanced Linux shell. I can install packages and other tools depending on the language and external modules for specified projects.

  ### 29. Web IDE is amazing
