"A powerful and collaborative cloud-based development environment"
What do you like best about Eclipse Che?

What I like most about Eclipse Che is the ability to work with fully configurable and reproducible development environments directly from the browser. The predefined workspaces make it easy to start projects without installing local dependencies, which saves time and avoids errors. Its strong integration with Kubernetes and containers adds a lot of flexibility for distributed teams. The real‑time collaboration features are also extremely valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?

While Eclipse Che is very useful, its performance can be affected when using heavy workspaces or complex configurations. Sometimes the initial loading time takes longer than expected. The learning curve may also be a bit steep for developers coming from traditional desktop IDEs, and certain integrations require additional manual adjustments. "A Solid, If Slightly Aged, Workhorse for Developers"
What do you like best about Eclipse Che?

Eclipse shines in some areas. It’s open-source, highly customizable, and supports a wide variety of programming languages with plugins. If you’re working in Java, especially in enterprise settings, Eclipse still feels like home. The support for Maven, Git, and debugging tools is solid, and once you have your workspace and preferences set up, it can be quite efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?

That said, Eclipse has its quirks. It can feel sluggish at times, especially when handling large projects. The UI, while functional, feels outdated compared to more modern editors like VS Code or IntelliJ IDEA. And plugin management—while powerful—can sometimes be a bit of a maze. What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?

It can feel a bit heavy at times, and performance depends a lot on internet speed. The UI could also be more responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Java Projects, but Can Be Slow at Times"
What do you like best about Eclipse Che?

Import or create a Java project (Maven recommended). You can clone a Git repo or create files inside the workspace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?

Since Eclipse Che runs in the browser and the actual build happens on a remote container (cloud or Kubernetes), slow or unstable internet directly affects responsiveness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
