What do you like best about DroneDeploy?

With this platform, you can render a 3d image of any area captured by a drone. The software is super easy to use on all devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DroneDeploy?

The cost is expensive! The "little guy" would be able to have access to this if the cost wasn't so much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Measure, Analyze, Integrate a bird's eye view!"
5/5
What do you like best about DroneDeploy?

DroneDeploy helps us immensely with our grading design and corresponding cut-fill analysis. It also allows us to create a 3D surface of the existing terrain, thus providing a reliable reference for any underground design - foundations or utilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DroneDeploy?

I wish DroneDeploy allowed us to import 3D models into the interface so that we could overlay the new design with the existing scanned surfaces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good for flight plans. Post processing could be better."
3.5/5
What do you like best about DroneDeploy?

The iOS app is excellent for planning missions. The app is free and easy to use, and you can save flight plans offline. I especially like the terrain awareness feature that allows you to fly over varying terrain while maintaining the same ground distance resolution. My first attempt to use the app resulted in a flyaway that I corrected. But newer versions have been solid with no problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DroneDeploy?

Its online interface for creating orthomosaics and other deliverables is still lacking and a little more difficult to navigate. It will generate decent enough results if you want to just drag photos in and generate maps. However, if you compare it to the functionality of Pix4D Mapper, Metashape, or even WebODM you quickly realize it doesnt have much configuration or ways to troubleshoot problems with your images. "Struction Site is reliable and easy to use"
4/5
What do you like best about DroneDeploy?

The ease of sharing photos with the project team. Struction Site allows me to share a project with a link, to anyone internal or external. Users can also login to their account to view all their projects using Procore. Once they sign in, the interface is straight forward, so new users can begin utilizing the photos immediately.

(Update)

The Video Walk feature is especially great on sites with very few reference points. It captures photos continuously like a timelapse, and I just need to Identify a start and stop location on the plans. Struction Site also filters out the blurry photos, so when you select a photo it is always the best available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DroneDeploy?

When analyzing a photo, you can add a note, tag a team member, create a new Procore RFI/observation or assign an existing one. These features are underdeveloped and limited in usage, but the biggest problem is the user interface; the tags will block parts of the image or be partially off-screen on standard/flat photos.

(Update)

1. The iOS app relocated the shutter button to the corner of the screen; This is not an ergonomic position on the iPad, and the feature to reposition the shutter button we removed.

2. Before heading on-site, I habitually open Struction Site while connected to wifi to update the project. Unfortunately, while on-site, if there is poor mobile data reception, the floor plans and pins may not load, and I cannot capture until it does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
