I like the ease of use of Deltek Costpoint the most. It's easy to find anything I need in the timesheet module, making the process of tracking our employees' time relatively painless. If edits need to be made due to incorrect postings, it's easy to correct and have employees re-sign timesheets. We can efficiently manage timesheet management, payroll, and posting labor distributions with reduced staff. Once you learn the processes, it's an easy and efficient system to use. I don't really dislike anything about Costpoint. However, I will say that I recently completed several Costpoint certificates on the Deltek Learning Hub and didn't receive the badge or certification email upon completion. I completed the Costpoint Silver Business Intelligence Report Authoring Certification Exam, and also the Costpoint Silver Labor Management Certification exam but didn't receive the badge or certification email for completing these two exams. The automated email stated that I should receive them within a 48 hour period, but it's been greater than that timeframe and I still haven't received. The data output reports aren’t easy to work with, and we need additional bolt-on solutions just to get Excel downloads that are actually usable for our reporting and analysis. This includes Costpoint Enterprise Reporting or Business Intelligence because the filter prompts are sometimes confusing and cannot be used quickly and efficiently. What I like best about Deltek Costpoint as an accountant at T and W Operations is how well it supports project based accounting while providing real time visibility into financial data. The system allows all costs including labor materials and overhead to be tied directly to specific projects which makes it much easier to track job costs monitor budgets and evaluate profitability. I also appreciate how Costpoint integrates timekeeping payroll and accounting so that once timesheets are approved the information flows directly into the financial system which helps reduce manual errors and saves time. Another strong feature is its ability to maintain compliance and keep records organized which is especially helpful for audits and reporting requirements. In addition the reporting and drill down capabilities make it easy to review transactions and analyze financial performance in detail. Overall Costpoint stands out because it combines accuracy efficiency and strong financial control in one system that supports both daily operations and long term decision making. What I dislike about Deltek Costpoint is that updates are only released on a quarterly basis, which means if an issue comes up or something is not working properly, it can take up to three months before it gets fixed. This can be frustrating in a fast paced accounting environment where problems often need to be resolved quickly. Waiting for the next update can slow down workflows and force us to find temporary workarounds instead of having a permanent solution right away. Deltek Costpoint, overall, is easy to use and navigate. It is easy to implement for those who have little to no experience with Deltek Costpoint. There are numerous features that are very beneficial, if and when the features are utilized by the company to it's full capacity. I really appreciate that Deltek Costpoint is an all-in-one financial system that covers financials, timekeeping, billing, and project accounting. The automation of workflows like accounts payable, billing, and time entry significantly streamlines processes, improving accuracy and efficiency in project costing. Often, I need to get on a call with a customer representative to use many of the more robust features, and it’s difficult to get on the phone or a Teams chat with someone who can actually help when I’m stuck trying to use a specific capability of the platform. I’d really like a more involved learning hub, with step-by-step walkthroughs and clear examples, that customers and users of the platform can refer to when they need guidance. There is a forum but I have never been able to find much help there.

There have been a few times when the easy answer was "Ask your Administrator" but I am the Administrator asking.

So I mainly use to log my own hours and then approve the timecards of my direct reports. It is easier to use for approval of direct reports timecards than previous tools used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is not as easy to find charge codes in the tree of available charge codes as the previous tool the company made use of. I also find it cumbersome to navigate through the manage/approve timecard portion as far as using the refinement tools to try and find older records or a specific direct reports info.
