What do you like best about Database as a Service (DBaaS)?

When it comes to databases, I think everyone has started their SQL skills with MYSQL. When I was learning databases, I have worked on the MySQL platform, and it was an excellent experience, and literally, I enjoyed doing it. And now, when we are doing multiple things with the Azure platform, and yes, it is providing various types of databases to us, MYSQL is one of them; I'm personally very much satisfied with this. To work with Azure MYSQL, there is no issue of security, it is very easy going. For me, it is very easy to understand, learn and one can become an expert with this. What do you like best about Database as a Service (DBaaS)?

Very easy to setup, connect to and maintain. Can create and setup any database in less the 20 mins. That is of course what you expect from this kind of service. It also offers great monitoring tools on the dashboard so you can see real time usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Database as a Service (DBaaS)?

There nothing to dislike in particular. But azure is known for offering premium service, which they really are with great speed and up time. But that does come at a price. The cheapest database I could spawn was for around 20 USD per month which compared to other services is quite high. Having said this it does not put me off using their services as they are good and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Database as a Service (DBaaS) solving and how is that benefiting you?

The other option is to this service is to create a VPS service and host the code and DB on the same server. With this service its way safer and faster. The fact that our data will be off site and the security risk of it. Yes we know that it is secured by the expert but just the feeling of knowing that our confidential data is store elsewhere is and will always be a concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The problems we are solving are (1) not running the risk of not properly maintaining our own database. (2) not worrying that accessing to data us impossible due to system failure (3) Paying additional IT staff to operate and maintain the database. The data as being generated in a huge amount today in a various format is what makes this product quite inefficient. I was building a database to store the meta information and download information about the RNA-Sequencing datasets related to placenta tissue. What do you like best about Database as a Service (DBaaS)?

I liked the support provided by it for all the well known frameworks like Django , WordPress etc,it becomes so easy to merge your application with database using it,Microsoft manage and backup that resource for us so that we can focus on other aspects of the site.
