"Easy to Use and Great at Capturing Requirements and Datapoints"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

ease of use and how well it captures our requirements and datapoints. integration with our previous protocols and workstreams was a big positive for us who've worked with just spreadsheets for the longest time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

the way you can easily drag the dashboard tabs when you try to click on them. Also how sometimes the dashboard windows won't allow you to see the whole text or allow you to scroll to the button you need without editing the dashboard window Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Thoughtful Design for Consulting Firms with Strong Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

I feel like CMap is developed by people who really understand how a consulting firm operates. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness and responsiveness of the CMap team as we were determining which solution would work best for us. The out-of-the-box configuration is really strong, and working with the team during the buying process also gave us a lot of confidence knowing we have a good partner when we need help with customization or run into an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

I'd love if the pricing per seat had some variability by user type (aka, a basic price for my team members doing timesheets and more premium pricing for the team members using the robust functions) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Purpose-Built and Easy to Use, with Helpful Support and Xero Integration"
4/5
What do you like best about CMap?

Purpose built for our industry, in theory easy to use and navigate. Integration with Xero is helpful. Support has always been helpful when required. Updates are frequent, we like the feedback loop and integration of new ideas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

Downsides are that it is costly, but everyone in the business must have a licence as we use it for holiday management too. I think it would be more widely used if it wasn't so pricy. There's also a lot of manual manipulation of data. If we could see an overall project profitability report without loads of custom effort - it would be the best tool in the business! "Fantastic project management tool"
5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

CMap is a genuinely fantastic tool. It is intuitive and easy to use and provides all the data you need to track project management and financial performance at a granular level. Also love the Xero integration for invoices. We have had a positive experience all round, with our support person Dan Short guiding us through the onboarding process and very helpful in solving specific issues/requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

The cost is significant for a small organisation and we probably don't need/use the whole range of functionality. If there was a cheaper version with fewer features that would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Versatile Business Tool with Clunky Resource Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

I find CMap incredibly helpful for project management areas. I appreciate the ability to raise custom reports, which is quite helpful. The webinars and office hours are great for finding bespoke solutions to custom report needs. Tracking projects with CMap has been beneficial in keeping everything organized. It's helpful in knowing project statuses, managing leads to follow, and understanding our pipeline and revenue projections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

I find the resource management tools in CMap quite clunky and not as intuitive as I would like. You have to build from the bottom up for each project, and it doesn't easily show the overall company availability. Also, the forecasting in CMap relies on too much information which makes it hard to project margins. The mobile app is another letdown. It doesn't do as much as I hoped it would on the iPhone. It's okay for expenses, but it's clunky when it comes to time sheets and other tasks. The transition from Harvest to CMap was also challenging. We faced issues with importing project statuses and pulling hours across due to different coding systems. We had to do a lot of manual manipulation, and some invoices went missing. "Everything in One Place for a Smoother Workflow"
4/5
What do you like best about CMap?

I like that everything is in one place. Previously, we were using a number of different systems and spreadsheets, so having it all together makes things much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

Unfortunately, because it’s set up more as a project management system, timesheets are configured for project managers to approve rather than line managers. This makes the approval process a bit more cumbersome than it needs to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Auto-Budgeting Made Easy, with Fast and Helpful Support"
5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

I like how it can automatically build a budget from a fee, based on the profit target you’re aiming for. The resourcing schedule is very easy to use, and it lets you enter placeholders so the budget can be as accurate as possible.

The way employees add their timesheets and expenses is also straightforward and easy.

I also appreciate how quickly the support contact number can deal with queries and how they always keep you in the loop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

There’s really nothing to dislike—only more to learn. We’re not using CMap to its fullest potential yet, and that’s something we’re actively working on with our account manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Project Financials with Real-Time Visibility into Health and Profitability"
5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

The best part of using CMAP is having project financials, resourcing, time tracking, invoicing, and reporting all in one system. It provides real-time visibility into project health and profitability, allowing us to make more informed business decisions and identify issues before they become larger problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

Difficulty in creating certain reports/functions for finance and profitability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Software with Fast Support and Promising AI Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

The software is very user friendly compared to previous software used. The customer support is fast at coming back with any issues.

There looks to be constant improvements and updates coming and the integration with AI looks like it could be a big time saver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

The report builder is very limited in what it can do we only discovered after fully integrating that to get the full use out of the system we need to purchase additional licenses through power BI. To fully use the system the reports being extracted should be able to combine different sections of the system together instead of being very segregated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Timesheets and Onboarding, but Clunky Reporting and Not Quite a One-Stop Shop"
3.5/5
What do you like best about CMap?

I like the timesheets and fee estimators. Having visibility of how the assumptions we use when pricing work in terms of time, ultimately compare to the number of hours booked to a customer project has given us data and insights that we haven't had in the past. Also being able to understand what our staff are spending time on outside of customer facing activities has been insightful. The onboarding support we received was outstanding, particular thanks to Onai Mvenge for her support and patience! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CMap?

The report builder is clunky and inflexible with what seems like thousands of fields to choose from, and it isn't always clear from the field name what data you will be getting. The pricing is expensive, particularly when we're paying full license costs for non-customer facing support functions, just so they can fill in timesheets. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get resource scheduling to work for us and the solutions we have for revenue forecasting/reporting and invoicing are better than the functionality in CMap. I feel a bit disappointed that CMap hasn't become the full one stop shop that I hoped it would but some of the features just aren't advanced enough to enable us to switch from our current solutions.
