"Rock-Solid VPN Reliability for Remote Work"
5/5
What do you like best about Cisco Secure Client?

I like that, once it’s connected, it just works quietly in the background. I log in through the VPN once and then get stable access to our internal tools and test environments without it constantly dropping. As someone working remotely and accessing secure client resources every day, that kind of reliability matters to me more than any fancy feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Secure Client?

My biggest annoyance is that it can become sluggish or even hang when it tries to reconnect after my laptop wakes from sleep or when my network switches. When that happens, I often have to disconnect and relaunch it manually to get things working again. The interface also feels pretty dated, and the error messages aren’t very helpful when something does go wrong, so I end up raising IT tickets for problems that I should be able to diagnose myself. What do you like best about Cisco Secure Client?

What do you dislike about Cisco Secure Client?

The initial authentication process can occasionally feel slow, particularly when completing multi-factor prompts while switching between mobile hotspots and home Wi-Fi. Additionally, after major system updates, certificate re-validation prompts sometimes require restarting the client app, and running multiple modules concurrently can draw slightly more background system memory. "Secure, Reliable VPN Access to Stage and Production Environments"
5/5

The best thing I like about Cisco Secure Client is that it provides secure and reliable remote access to our company stage and production environments. To access stage and production, it’s mandatory to connect to the VPN first; only then are you able to access company resources. That requirement is the main reason I like it so much. It also pairs this daily reliability with strong, enterprise-grade encryption and an interface that is exceptionally easy to navigate once your IT team sets it up. The standout feature of Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (now Cisco Secure Client) is its rock-solid connection stability. Users consistently praise how it maintains a reliable, secure VPN connection without dropping, even during long remote work sessions or when switching between networks. What do you dislike about Cisco Secure Client?

A common pain point is its aggressive "always-on" security configuration that can sometimes interfere with local network access, such as connecting to home printers. Lastly, the backend setup and policy management can be complex and time-consuming for IT administrators to deploy and maintain. AnyConnect's heavy system resource consumption as a major drawback, which can drain batteries and slow down older machines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
