Obvious pros include easy connection to EC2, Lambda, and Elastic instances. **What do you dislike about AWS CodeStar?** It lacks the adoption of Gitlab. AWS-centric, if you're using cross-platform services, pick another IDE. The time required to provision a new instance takes a while. It isn't suitable for smaller scopes. CodeStar would not be my choice for a team IDE unless I had to use it. **Recommendations to others considering AWS CodeStar:** Prepare to learn a more complex solution than necessary to leverage AWS services. **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's just another online IDE, which a heavy focus on using AWS services for content and platform delivery. Because it has a unique interface in which you can easily manage the development of applications, it also provides the opportunity to work in a team very safely and at the same time be able to follow the development of the projects in which you work and the best of this great software is that you only pay for what you use while you develop your applications **What do you dislike about AWS CodeStar?** I have not found anything unfavorable in CodeStar works at a hundred percent for what I consider to be a very complete AWS tool. **Recommendations to others considering AWS CodeStar:** AWS CodeStar is ideal for teamwork to use it will make your work team have greater interaction and better performance in addition the costs of this software are very fair for everything it offers. **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Working with CodeStar has been very favorable for our company because we can keep track of how advanced our applications are, in addition to using it we increase the productivity of our development team because we only focus on development while CodeStar configures our tasks more difficult. ### 4. I dabble in coding for my product team but it's not my main priority role or what I spend most of my day on. Disclaimer aside, I've enjoyed using AWS Code Star. My team and I have found the templates pretty intuitive and straightforward. My Dev Ops colleagues have been loving it even more than I have! The process from starting a project at log in to choosing a template is fairly straightforward and relatively intuitive. We've also enjoyed the dashboard as a way to track our progress of our applications. **What do you dislike about AWS CodeStar?** To be totally honest, since I'm not as much of a main user of the platform I have a hard time navigating the code. Whether that's a flaw of AWS Code Star or myself is a good question lol. It has taken us quite a bit of time for our applications to get up and running, which is frustrating when we're looking to make quick decisions and fast projects. **Recommendations to others considering AWS CodeStar:** Worth a try for sure! **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using AWS Code Star primarily for Dev Ops purposes. As a manager, I dabble in reviewing these though I am not necessarily a main user of A W S Code Star. A major benefit we've realized is being able to deploy the app anywhere we want, though being locked in to using AWS for everything could be a potential downside. ### 5. We use GCP and Azure in our office and there is no option to use CodeStar there. I also wanted AWS to provide a good peer review process into CodeCommit with an integration into CodeStar for better collaboration between my team. **Recommendations to others considering AWS CodeStar:** If you are building AWS native applications, look no further and use CodeStar instead of git and Jenkins. This is suited for AWS infrastructure and is available free of cost. Also, it is very easy to setup and in just a few clicks you should be all set. No deep technical expertise required. **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use it to build fully native AWS development pipeline. Right from code commit to code build it integrates very well. There is no additional charge for using AWS CodeStar which makes it my favorite and I realize its cost-saving benefits. ### 6. The Dashboard is so useful through it you can tell to all your team how is going the project, and also AWS cloudwatch show performance live. **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** I just need to use one online IDE to developt a project, because there is everything what i should need to do that. Also the most features which it offers, are so useful. I save a lot time, and can assign task to anyother team mate, follow issues very easy, and control roles. ### 8. Also the way of deploy app/websites can't be easier, with few clicks i can see my project running, and the best of all is you can test all these tools on free tier which is just amazing. **What do you dislike about AWS CodeStar?** Is very simple, but there is everything what you should need to manage a project, so there is nothing what i dislike from this tool, and if there is something what you need, you can add them with external tools from aws. **Recommendations to others considering AWS CodeStar:** If you need manage a big or small project, aws codestar is great online tool to do that, and all the others tools from amazon like pipeline, codedeploy, codecommit, etc. Which are integrated with CodeStar are just amazing to work on your brower, thats mean you can edit code from everywhere without install anything. The price isn't expensive and you can select what kind of features do you need, so it apply for all developer levels, even for students, they can use the free tier to do small projects. **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** With AWS CodeStar i can share projects with co-worker, team members, friends. It help a lot to organized a project, is the perfect tool for SCRUM, and it update the code instantly thats mean i can work live with another people. I used it for web/web app developtment, but can use also for software development. ### 9. In a few minutes, I can have a full cloud development environment wired up to a release pipeline. **What do you dislike about AWS CodeStar?** Doesn't seem to be fully integrates with all of the AWS services. For example, if you create a lambda project with an API gateway, it will update changes you make to the lambda function, but not the gateway. **What problems is AWS CodeStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quickly develop some microservices. It worked super well. Can't imagine a faster way to be developing and deploying code. ### 10.
