Earlier we were not able to track User, what they are doing on AWS. Some of user use to do create/delete operations on EC2s, RDS & some lambda function. But we were not able to track who is deleting our DBs, it was test DB but still recreation of this things is very hetic and updating data. By using this we started tracking everything and gradually this things decreased. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We can only see the tracking details of last 15 days, we need to store logs on S3 bucket and from there we can query with Athena. That is not good for me as a user, If I'm paying I need things at one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cloudtrail is an great auditing tool (unlike Cloudwatch which is the monitoring tool - hint for anyone taking their AWS exams as this often comes up). As an audit tool and a web service, it is more granular and logs every API activity across your AWS Services. The granularity of the logs makes it useful for doing a deep dive into your AWS service (s). The log shows user, date, IP Address, so all you really need.
