No free version is provided yet by Avast, but a free trial is provided for software understanding. I have been using Avast business Antivirus for an extended time, and it's a fantastic antivirus that protects my valuable data from viruses. I never got angry by undesirable interruptions from the software. It Automatically updates itself; it just needs stable internet connectivity.
