# What MEP platforms allow teams to build and maintain custom block libraries efficiently for repeated project use?

&lt;p&gt;Over five years, data beats geometry, so the real contest is families versus the rented library. Blocks feel cheapest and quietly cost the most, since geometry-only content means retyping the same data forever. The tiebreaker is what your deliverable is: firms handing off design intent do fine investing in families and a content owner, while anyone producing fabrication-level work ends up renting, because maintaining eight million parts yourself isn&#39;t a hobby. The hidden line item either way is the person who owns the library. Content without an owner rots by version three.&lt;/p&gt;
