Apache DeltaSpike gives Java CDI extensions and reduces the complexity of setting up and managing servers. It adds CDI support to Bean Validation, allowing CDI-aware constraint validator methods to use business objects (EJBs, ManagedBeans) for validation. And it is a suite of portable CDI Extensions to make CDI and Java EE application development more manageable, and the Apache DeltaSpike framework has an excellent modular design, in my opinion. In the era of microservices, CDI and JAX-RS could make for a solid stack. Spring Boot is widespread, and Apache DeltaSpike can be used similarly (and would provide a better REST framework than Spring MVC, although Spring MVC can be used with JAX-RS, too). DeltaSpike isn't as popular as JBoss Seam. Still, there are few modules after years. DeltaSpike does not compete with Spring, and its sole purpose is to address deficiencies in the capabilities of the EE platform. It aims to standardize these solutions on EE and remove them from DeltaSpike. Even though the CDI integration is real-time, it can sometimes be slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
