Feedback system also good it will alerts user from common mistakes. Customer support also good because Ansys used in industry. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** I think not powerful as full Ansys suite some advanced structural tools like CFD are still needed. and also not suitable for very large simulations having limited scalability. Frequency of use for students not for professional engineers. **What problems is Ansys Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** As I said it was a beginner friendly environment, Actually it should be difficult in multi physics part to integrate all physics solutions to one place. Often crashes when cleaning the model again after making some changes to geometry **What problems is Ansys Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** 3D Cad model on which FEA / CFD analysis has to be performed has to cleaned properly for meshing. So in spaceclaim we can reduce the complexity of model by removing fillets, sharp corner , edges and create topology for mesh. ### 3. I appreciate that it allows for checking interference and removing extra edges with just one click. It's currently the best tool for cleanup and was very easy to teach my team. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** Sometimes it automatically slows down, that should be improved. **What problems is Ansys Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Ansys SpaceClaim for geometry cleanup, checking interference, and removing extra edges effortlessly. Great drafting process that gets the job details out to the fabricators on the shop floor. As it has very easy interface to try on. The best tool even for who is currently studying or working professional both. I like best of on all features on this product. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** The worst part only in this product I can part it out is bit on pricing features. Bu one can try asking the support team for pricing too. Or one of the other demerits but can be better is limited customisation. It might not be accurate but very close to accuracy. It reduces the product design time significantly. Designer can arrive at a much more optimal design with much less CAE iterations. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** I understand that accuracy is compromised when speed is needed but still the user friendliness can be worked upon. Creation of CAD and imposing boundary conditions can be improved. Very intuitive and easy to use, regardless of the type of simulation you wanna do. Decent speed and accuracy. Good customer support and learning resources are available on the ALH (Ansys Learning Hub) **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** Obviously the accuracy and precision are not at par with ANSYS, but that's what you're also compromising for with the software. Slightly slower if you've an old GPU or if it's not powerful enough. If any change or iteration needed, we can quickly modify the design, run the simulation and get the results. Our engineering design iteration process gets lot easier **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** Sometimes for very large geometries if I need to change or modify certain portion of geometry, it stucks and time comsuming although no problems for small and medium size geometries. **What problems is Ansys Discovery solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me to do solve CFD/CAE problems related to turbomachinery, BESS, thermal and fluid problems. You can simply delete or add a feature or change a size of a part. It also helps with parametric study by shifting e.g. length of a part, you can study a dependent result variation. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** Modeling a brand new geometry from sketch is something I could not intuitively figure out like I did in Solidworks or Inventor. It is in the level of difficulty as Autocad or Catia. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about Ansys Discovery?** The intuitive nature of SpaceClaim (SCDM) and its GUI, the learning curve with SCDM is very fast mostly 4 operations - pull, move, fill & boolean operations can meet CAD simplification needs (for simulation model simplification) and, the ease with which certain CAD modification operations are performed which can be complex to learn in other CAD softwares, repairing geom features - stitching, missing faces are beneficial in case of complex geometries, the CNTRL+scroll feature to select background faces is very good. The ease of share-topology and named selections. Scripting is very powerful tool but very poor documentation on it is provided. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** Sharetopology does not always work as it should; a lot of manual work needs on the parts to be done in such cases. 'Interference' cannot fix interference between all parts at times - again, quite a lot of effort needs to be spent in such cases. The 'merge' by default option setting for pull, move etc is a blunder; it has to be changed to 'no merge' on every new installation. SpaceClaim has an easy-to-learn curve, limiting how much production 3D CAD parts can be simplified. No documentation on SpaceClaim scripting. Creating relations between parameters is not possible. **Recommendations to others considering Ansys Discovery:** I would like if SpaceClaim developer team worked thoroughly on the issues SpaceClaim has with sharetopology, stitching, interference removal in some cases. Then for any resolution, an open ticket was created, which took more than five months to come closing the ticket with no resolution, in this period, the call support person tried to close the ticket multiple times, and his comments were ''Since I have not heard back from you, I am assuming that there are no further questions in this regard. I will close this ticket for now'' during this time, I was waiting for a response with the resolution of this bug for ver 2021R2. I responded '' As far as I am concern, the ticket is still open from my side. Have you fixed the: Bug #664705 ??'' Then he replied> As I mentioned in my previous email, the bug is currently being fixed. The fix will be available most probably in v2023R1 (next release).'' Also the surface repair options like stitching, filling similar holes reduces repeating work. Also I love the way we can create 2D sketches and make 3D models from them. Very useful for CFD applications where inner volume can be extracted in a comparatively easier way. **What do you dislike about Ansys Discovery?** Sometimes the stitching option doesn't work to merge surfaces with small gaps. But over time I learned some tricks to do it otherwise. I guess that could be due to lot of things to be loaded due the hepty GUI. If that can be brought down.
