The workspace itself was created easily.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Support. I can't get anyone on the phone, through chat and it takes up to 24 hours to receive a response via email.

Being able to login remotely to a desktop and share certain information with colleagues .

  ### 3. Review for Amazon WorkSpace

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshath R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

The security level is very high of Amazon Wokspace. You need to register your device such as mobile phone and then use RSA token to login to AWS. Within which you will have to login to your virtual machine. In this you can open more than one virtual machine and data can be easily transferred from one VM to the other. Even copy paste from one machine to other works.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Amazon work space doesn't give access to transfer data from local machine to VM. Handling this becomes more hectic like you will have to always mail to the VM to get the data. Sometimes mailing wont solve as the size of the data is more so you will have to create a cloud memory and then transfer data. Moreover the support team of AWS is really hard to connect to if you face any issues while logging in to AWS

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

I am not quite happy using this Software. You will need to login to multiple places to open your Remote Desktop and work. Yes its helpful when there is a requirement to use more than one VM in one Machine. But there are few things which are restricted like copy pasting of data from local machine to VM. I would not likely recommend to use this as Virtual Desktops.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am currently developing Process Automation for my client and they use AWS within which we have dedicated virtual machines to work on. I find it similar to CITRIX , haven't yet got any such benefits by using this.

  ### 4. Aws workspace review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swaraj D. | Test Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Secure and enables single sign on to connect to the network. It's secured. There is no space issue howsoever.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Network connection is not very stable at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

Can use it for faster access to remote server with secure connection.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security, data shielding , easy to connect to VDI. Easy to use. No space issue as it is hosted in cloud.

  ### 5. Amazon Workspaces is easy and super useful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

I like how smoothly it runs on any computer. It's easy to setup and even easier to log into. We use it for a shared computer with license to a software. It's easy for user to log in and do what they need to and log out.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

It takes some time to log into. Usually waiting for a couple minutes for the computer to come online.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

It's a very economical solution for what we were looking for. It runs great and is always reliable.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We bought one license to a software and put it on a shared computer. This Amazon workspace allows people in different offices to have access to it. We also don't have to have VPN's to our main location to share a computer on that server.

  ### 6. Amazon Workspace Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subham M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

AWS is a platform that gives you the access to use more than one Virtual machines using one user id of AWS. You don't need to switch machines to log into different VMs. Moreover AWS is quite secured which I feel as whenever you need to login to AWS you will have to generate a token using RSA application and then use that token with your secured pin. Also I like one more thing that is it doesn't disconnect the VM opened inside it even if you disconnect the AWS.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

With such security I personally think they could have the support team easily reachable. Its really a pain to connect to the support team. It does not allow you to transfer data by copy pasting from your own local machine to AWS.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

As per my experience I would say using AWS has pros and cons both. Its quite beneficial for me when I do my development in it. But also face problems while copy pasting any data from local machine to AWS. But the major part of my work is development which goes on smooth. From a developers point of view I would obviously recommend to use this product. It will save your time in many ways.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as an Automation expert and I do process automation using Automation Anywhere tool. So I use AWS within which I do my development and as it provides you the access you use multiple VMs. It helps me to continue my development in one machine and I can parallelly run the code in a different VM. This is a great advantage for we developers atleast.

  ### 7. If your PC is too Slow. This is the best one

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

AWS Workspaces was so helpful for me, When I was in the lockdown and I had emergency work. But my Laptop can't cater the requirements. So I bought a AWS Workspace and completed my work. AWS Workspace can launch in multiple monitors as extended. Also, it is working smoothly in the low bandwidth internet connections. Also, I can extend my Memory and Capacity if I needed. Also has great in workspace internet connection, That was really fast.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

AWS Workspaces are very expensive. Also, Have some problems with the audio interface. Also, it can't access to my webcam. And when in the meetings, it needed to switch my actual workspace.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

AWS Workspaces are too much expensive.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

These days, I'm working in a huge research project that done by my University. For that I needed a high performance pc. But with this lockdown situation because of the COVID19. I have no chance to afford it. Because of that I purchased a AWS Workspace and I have done my work in there.

Ability to install and use the AWS even with medium speed internet. Also its ability to install software as equal to physical machine by matching with its performance.

Using machine from any location with the files and softwares supported globally.

  ### 12. Easy way to control code access and standardize computers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt L. | VP of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

We use workspaces as a clean way to make sure our code base is not on anyone's personal computers, and to control access to the test systems in AWS.
All developers get a workspace, and then we have the source control and testing servers all blocked through AWS firewalls to only allow the developer workspaces to access them.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

The user access controls and setting things like 'session timeout' can be done, but it's very difficult (have to go through Microsoft Active Directory). Wish that Amazon would make this easier to use.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving any compliance issues with having the code base out on personal computers, makes shut down of a 'leaving' employee much easier, and makes for more secure access to testing resources

  ### 13. Awesome Virtual Desktop Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikhil J. | Associate Team Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Earlier we used to work on Virtual desktop and need to Create infrastructure for every user. Now we dont need to spend the time for that. AWS Removed the various dependencies on other services we need to handle and we dont need to handle the security too.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

dislike part is like sometimes it disconnects inbetween might be due to other user accessing with same credentials or other thing. The dependency on network is also contraint but for cloud infra that is needed actually.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

I think this is a great product to go for a new era of cloud working environment

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it to maintain our healthcare applications. The Secure environmment help us to not worry about the data vulnerabilty.

  ### 14. Easy to setup for Virtual Desktop and using the advantage of AWS datacenters all around the world.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serdar M. | Senior Information Technology System Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Instead of using, on-prem Citrix solution, I provided for our APAC region users with a low latency solution for their virtual desktop experience. When using Workspaces, we have freedom to choose the appropriate datacenter to reduce latency for your distant locations.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

AWS has their own GPOs for Windows OS. I had some conflict with my GPOs and AWS GPOs. Unfortunately, there is solution to disable the AWS's GPO configured on Virtual desktops.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

If you have locations all around the world and you want to provide with a good quality desktop experience for your users, then I recommend you to look into Workspaces solution. It gives you flexibility to work on a distributed service for virtual desktops. It has all kind of operating systems built in Workspaces solution.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Users from APAC region had some difficulties to access our on prem resources such as Citrix and other servers. Because of long distance, it was impossible to reduce the latency for regular desktop experience. That was the moment, we have decided to give a shot for AWS Workspaces solution. After configuring the insfastructure on AWS, I had used directory services for integration with AD and it was ready to use.

  ### 15. Incredible as a low cost solution

It's really quick, responsive and doesn't have any sort of latency. And it's super easy to change workstations in any part of the office.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Just the fact that sometimes it doesn't keep the session open after more than 24h.

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Workspaces allows you to easily have a desktop in the cloud, and do work with a GUI that would otherwise have to be done using the terminal/command line in an EC2 instance.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Workspaces can sometimes lose connection for no reason even when the network is working fine, and will need to be rebooted which takes time away from development tasks.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

Worksapces is great

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

The flexibility to work anywhere is fantastic and the possibility to work in various systems. You can have the application in Mac and windows.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

The application is simple and works great, but we can't transfer files easily to the workspace.
A functionality that can transfer files from our machine to the workspace via the application will make this fantastic.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

The app is simple to install, very easy to use and is fast.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to work remotely. Since I use a Mac, and the software is only available in windows this is the solution we have. But the best part is that we can continue working from every computer with internet.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ejaz M. | Head of Technology, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

In my opinion, WorkSpaces is a quite impressive and unique take of Amazon on cloud computing. Amazon has attempted to give users with true personal cloud experience. It is beyond simple cloud storage. I have prepared a Windows 7 PC with freedom of whatever kind of hardware I required. The best is it as true desktop experience and is just like using physical laptop or PCs I use. I have connected remotely from different ISP networks and it worked most of the times. I am thinking of leaving my personal laptop at home and use any low spec windows tab for accessing my WorkSpace.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

Amazon can totally count me in on WorkSpaces if they can address the lag / latency issues which start randomly during sessions. Second thing to be addressed is the time Amazon App takes to connect to my WorkSpace. I understand that technically it can relate to my own ISP connection but I have faced the same issue of multiple networks since I travel a lot.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

Every IT professional show give WorkSpaces at least one shot. Its truly worth the time you will spent.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As tech professional heading networks & software development teams in our Company which has more than 150 employees across the globe, I see a very plausible implementation of WorkSpaces, where I will create an active directory based LAN network and they can login to their workstations regardless of their locations and type of hardware they might have. This will help me in data protection, governance, maintenance of our custom software, plus ease of access for employees.

  ### 43. I use email only

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2017

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

I like that it allows you to have desktop notifications.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

There is no friendly way to check the email over an app on my phone. I have to log in on browser and is annoying. Also, is not mobile friendly. I haven't tried but it looks like there are no integrations to send mass email (like YAMM for gmail). It will not automatically forward emails to my zendesk either.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

Not mobile friendly, you can potentially have work-life balance this way.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communications. We have it integrated with zendesk too but is not very user friendly and we cannot forward emails automatically like in google. Because we have teams in China we use this server.

  ### 44. Fair cost/benefit

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

It contains multiple applications, some of them free.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

A little complicated to navigate. Some of the options like the s3 bucket are not very convenient when trying to find and pull information quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

Train your users and coordinate transition with plenty of time

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Share multiple applications and folders with other users

  ### 45. Amazon review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James F. | Associate Data Scientist, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2017

**What do you like best about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

The application is very easy to navigate. I store all my data files on s3.

**What do you dislike about Amazon WorkSpaces?**

I don't like how undeleting files in s3 requires undeleting files one at a time. Multi-undelete functionality would be useful.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkSpaces:**

AWS products are used by our Analytics teams and Engineering teams, making it easy for transitions of projects from team to team.

**What problems is Amazon WorkSpaces solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using AWS to train models, build features, store data. s3 is the underlying storage system for all data that our team uses and generates.
