One feature I would like to see is network monitoring/logging on all network adapters, not just the one that is the active connection. This means that if you are migrating from an EOL platform like Windows 7 you can't migrate to the most current version of Absolute Secure Access despite the fact my licensing covers unlimited server installs regardless of the version running on the server. This has meant for us a two and a half year wait to get to the most current version of Absolute Secure Access while our old systems are being replaced. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** Connect drops and Reconnects are a huge issue for us in sketchy connectivity ares. Absolute Secure Access makes the end user feel like they are connected all the time and they rarely notiice any drop in connectivity. ### 11. It sometimes doesn't get the attention it deserves because it's an out of sight, out of mind application. We are always so busy supporting other applications, and never have to do anything other than updates. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** It would be nice is the software was system service based, so it would connect when the computer is powered on (like wifi), but a user must log in for the application to begin running. The ease of use, and the toolset for evaluating where there are potential issues on the network help my department to be more proactive than reactive. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** The menu navigation can take a bit getting used to with all of the different things that need to happen, and I think that there is room for improvement on the resources that are needed to power the Analytics side of the platform. but other than that, currently I am not seeing many downsides. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is helping to move away from legacy hardware for my company, and it is also helping to have a better understanding of the area in terms of where are problematic spots where service is dropping. (Not due to the product but due to the infrastructure from the service providers in the area.) I looked like a hero deploying this compared to what we had. We've been happy customers through several versions. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** The only issues we've had are around the instances where you are on a guest wireless and need to sign a terms and conditions, etc but Absolute is sitting there trying to connect and gets in the way. It is bulletproof and rarely if-ever fails. Past upgrades have been simple and with minimal downtime. I recall 1 upgrade experience where the Technician apologized because the VPN connection would be down for about 15-30 seconds while a few files were replaced. A few SECONDS of downtime? Are you kidding me? I work with a lot of software that supports 1st Responders and Law Enforcement. You would think that 1st Responder software would be reliable and minimize downtime; but in my experience they are fragile and take 8-10 hours to upgrade. Absolute's solutions are extremely reliable, well documented, and save I.T. a lot of hassle and downtime. Just keep the servers patched and Absolute's software will run for years without issues or downtime. It just simply works! - I wish that was the norm. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** Nothing really. Overall, AAA helps customers transition from traditional VPN to a resilient Zero Trust approach almost painlessly without impacting end-users experience. Also, the multiple licensing options make one pick and choose the features one needs. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** I did not find any downside to the application. One can feel the features available in the Secure Access and Absolute Visibility in Secure End-point, which seem to lack many important features, one may not find very useful. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hybrid/remote work schedules have added many new risks to users accessing the corporate network remotely; many of these risks are rated high or very high. One way of mitigating the risk is Zero Trust Network Access, where a user needs to be authenticated and authorized eachtime the user access a critical resource. Several zero-trust tools are available in the market now; AAA is an attractive choice for customers for its features, simple licensing process and cost-effectiveness. ### 41. That pretty much sums it up. Also it's vpn client is great and can do very neat things like autostart while reading your computer username/password to fill in the log in info for you. All with support for MFA. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** You need the subscription version to access a lot of the things you could currently use, like SAML 2.0 support and additional diagnostics, although the non subscription version is going away soon. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mobility/remote access, it excels at this by having a connection that doesn't get interrupted. This is accomplished by faking the interface information on windows side while letting the connection fail only to the netmotion client. ### 44. It doesn't crash, it doesn't fail. There is broad backwards compatibility meaning that you don't have to keep clients and server in perfect lockstep. Upgrades are quick, not requiring 8-10 hours of downtime. Upgrades are typically handled by organization's I.T. and doesn't require scheduling upgrades and granting Absolute/Netmotion technicians access to your servers. - Support is available, but not required, like with some vendors. I also like that Netmotion is proprietary and thus not vulnerable to 'most' well known vulnerabilities that affect SSH, OpenVPN, MS PPTP, Juniper's Pulse Secure, etc. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** I wish that Absolute/Netmotion had an intregration with an IoT hardware vendor like Cradlepoint or plug-ins/modules for major Firewall providers such as PFSense, OpenBSD, Juniper, etc. I wish Absolute Netmotion Mobility better supported 2FA providers besides Radius - for example: DUO proxy Amazon, or Microsoft. Netmotion Mobility doesn't natively support 2FA PUSH technology - our organization had to use a DUO proxy to emulate a Radius server response in order to get Netmotion Mobility to (sorta) work with DUO PUSH. **What problems is Absolute Secure Access solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Netmotion Mobility as a way to secure communication between client endpoints and CJIS systems. CA DOJ recognizes Netmotion as being secure - so if you list Netmotion on your Network Topography or documentation that your organization submits to DOJ -- they ask less questions and approve your connections more quickly. So while Netmotion isn't the only FIPS compliant VPN - it is well respected within CJIS and LEA organizations. ### 49. In a hybrid workspace a huge part of the workforce work remotely. The success of a VPN tool should be measured by how effectively it addresses the concerns of end-users. DEM is a great feature to meet that end. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Access?** NetMotion largely meets my requirements. Sometimes I feel the performance can be improved a bit.
