## XMLSpy Reviews
  ### 1. XMLSpy - One of the best Mark up Language Editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Indrajeet D. | Technical Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2022

**What do you like best about XMLSpy?**

XMLSpy is one of the best tools for editing, debugging and coding in XML and JSON formats.
It eases the schema design of XSD, JSON Schema, XSLT, XQuery, XBRL, SOAP, and more.

**What do you dislike about XMLSpy?**

Lack of free version.
The cost is too high.
Too many updates whole round the year creates confusion on stability.
Examples are not easy to understand.

**What problems is XMLSpy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

End-to-end solution for any XML and JSON format designing, compiling, editing and viewing.
GUi-based view, which makes it very easy to understand and design schemas.
Helps validate and formating huge XML and JSON files.

  ### 2. Altova XMLSpy should be your first choice for working with XML schemas

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2021

**What do you like best about XMLSpy?**

Altova XMLSpy provides an excellent visual user interface for designing new XML schemas from scratch and maintaining existing XML schemas. It allows even novices to learn how XML schemas work and figure out how to create an XML schema to model real-world objects or represent the data structures that are relevant to them.

**What do you dislike about XMLSpy?**

The software licensing costs for Altova XMLSpy might put it out of reach of non-corporate users. It would be great if there were a lite or free version that was available for non-commercial use.

**What problems is XMLSpy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Altova XMLSpy in our software development toolchain for enterprise integration and business-to-business integration. It is our core tool for designing or maintaining XML schemas, and we also use it for inspecting and reformatting XML documents and investigating and diagnosing issues with XML data. It has saved hundreds of hours of effort that we would have expended had we been required to craft XML schemas line by line manually.

  ### 3. Best tool to write code and generate schema

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishi M. | Services Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2021

**What do you like best about XMLSpy?**

This tool helps me to create varity of schema depending on the system also help me to create webservice. The best thing about XMLspy is that it integrates with DataPower and allow to test the code before even putting it into DataPower. Which no other IDE does. Features like visual schema creation, xsl v2 support, graphical WSDL creation, open XML support, diff dog and many more makes it even more powerful tool. It not only helps in coding it helps on creating the design documents as well. Ahh, I almost forgot that it helps a lot by integrating itself with eclipse. I use this IDE a lot and xmlspy makes my life easy by integrating with it. Creating scema and WSDL is so easy in this tool. And the graphical options gives so much visibility of the inter related schemas, which helps any organization which uses schemas for all its service.

**What do you dislike about XMLSpy?**

All good about this tool. Nothing bad. Price could have been a bit less.

Features like visual schema creation, xsl v2 support, graphical WSDL creation, open XML support and for me DataPower plugin support makes this tool awesome to but for any organisation or for a developer.

**What problems is XMLSpy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Shivi M. | IT Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2020

**What do you like best about XMLSpy?**

What is not to like in Xml spy, with so many similar products already in the market XML spy is first choice. One doesn't needs a comparison tool as with xml spy comparison is also possible.

**What do you dislike about XMLSpy?**

**What problems is XMLSpy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Mark O. | Sr. Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2020

**What do you like best about XMLSpy?**

XMLSpy is a very powerful tool that needs to be included in your development toolbox. The XMLSpy editor is extremely helpful when trying to solve issues in your backend systems and processes when creating or developing your XML or XSD templates. The step through, viewer and the ability to add threads for stress and integration needs when whitebox testing or development is phenomenal.
The wizards have been revamped so that it's not complicated but actually straight-forward when implementing some of the features that are unlocked. One of the more powerful aspects with XMLSpy is the WSDL & SOAP tools help tremendously when creating or developing your process. Since I'm a SQA Engineer the tools and debuggers in XMLSpy have helped me to isolate issues or even for that matter potential issues/bugs that could surface in your testing phase. I've used the SOAP client to help me when I needed to interpret third-party WSDL docs from our development partners. It is so helpful to use the database integration portion of the tool that helps with SQL interoperability configurations. Download the tool you won't regret it.

**What do you dislike about XMLSpy?**

**Recommendations to others considering XMLSpy:**

I would highly recommend downloading and using XMLSpy, even if it's just for the trial.
