## Epocrates Reviews
  ### 1. I use Epocrates literally every day.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pascal S. | Pediatric Neurologist, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

I used it on a daily basis mostly to look up medication information, but there are a number of other features which are also helpful. I am a pediatric neurologist and the dosage information is well-described for peds. It is also easy to access other useful information including mechanisms of action, prices, and even pictures of the medication as well as a pill identifier as sometimes patients will describe their medications that way (e.g., "that round blue pill for anxiety"). I also use it very frequently to look up side-effects and interactions, as there is a section for adding medications together to see what interactions they may cause. There are also educational sections and calculators.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

I feel like the price of the medications are frequently not available, or it doesn't give pricing info for a particular dosage. Also, the version I use does not provide information for OTC supplements, but I believe the pay version does.

**Recommendations to others considering Epocrates:**

Download the app: easy to use, convenient, fast, complete, and accurate.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking up medications quickly and inexpensively. Also very convenient that it is available as an app, because I often use it while on the phone with patients when I'm not in the office or in front of a computer.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

To be user plus you have to disburse a bit of money a bit exaggerated, when updating any list it can take a long time, in many cases the application of information saturation and is not pleasant, I have some friends abroad and I have recommended this application would be quite useful if they incorporated more languages into it. The phone application at startup is quite slow.

  ### 4. Epocrates Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

I love Epocrates app, it has made nursing school much easier. I recently downloaded this after a recommendation and it was worth it. During clinicals I often don't have access to a computer so this is an easy quick way to look for information regarding a specific drug. The best feature is the streamlined look on the drug page and how straightforward the information is they have on each page. I don't like having to read a paragraph about drug information when I just need the basics about it.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

So far I have not found anything I dislike about the app. I will edit my review if I find something in the future.

**Recommendations to others considering Epocrates:**

If you are interested in working with a software that is streamlined but detailed Epocrates is definitely worth trying. Although I have not used it for very long, I appreciate what it has allowed me to do so far.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Spending less time looking up the drug information I need when reviewing what a patient is taking and the possible interactions that I need to know quickly. The less time I have to spend reading through long paragraphs of each drug the more time I can spend checking other information and working patients.

  ### 5. Epocrates for quick access to drug information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

I most like the ability to search drugs both by name and by body system. After selecting a drug, the app conveniently organizes information based on adult dosing, peds dosing, CIs, adverse reactions, etc. I additionally appreciate that black box warnings are clearly indicated and don't require additional searching.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

I wish finding the home screen button was easier. To get back to the home screen, you press the "e" at the top right corner of the app. I found this unclear and difficult to remember when I first started using Epocrates. Also, the app is sometimes slow when loading information.

**Recommendations to others considering Epocrates:**

Try it out! It's free, so there's no financial risk!

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epocrates is a must have for any med, PA, NP, or nursing student. I love having an easy to access app on my phone that I can trust for pharmacological information. This app allows me to search quick drug information rather than searching for the information embedded in school powerpoints or relying on websites I can't trust.

  ### 7. Very good

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** mary g. | ms, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

I most like the capacity to pursuit drugs both by name and by body framework. In the wake of choosing a medication, the application helpfully sorts out data dependent on grown-up dosing, peds dosing, CIs, unfavorable responses, and so on. I furthermore welcome that discovery admonitions are plainly shown and don't require extra seeking.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

Requires steady programming update because of its idea.

**Recommendations to others considering Epocrates:**

Useful in both essential and intense consideration.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

capacity to confirm prescriptions, sedate connections, dosing, contraindications, rapidly and even at bedside.

  ### 8. Epocrates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

epocrates is a medical dictionary all in one. I can read about recent drugs in the field. I can calculate BMI, I can check interactions. It is awesome for furthering my education and staying up to date on the research

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

I like everything. I currently do not have the paid version so I do have some limitations but I can still see quite a bit of information.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is a great education tool. I can recommend this to my partners when they are looking for drug contraindications or the best drug to prescribe to a patient.

  ### 9. Easy to use, although reference with caution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robyn T. | Physician Assistant, Medical Practice, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

So in the pro version: I love the photos under diagnoses, the differential dx option, and the Pill ID feature. It's not just a pharmacopeia, it's an app that has so much information! You can look up diagnoses and see different treatment options, the diagnoses pages incude photos, and the Pill ID is awesome because it helps identify mystery pills based on color, shape/size, imprints, etc. The interaction check is so convenient and easy to use!

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

some of the recommendations aren't fully referenced. I've heard at a psychology lecture (from a pharmacologist and a psychiatrist) that Epocrates is their least favorite app for drug references because some of the information on the drugs are backed up by poor studies/references/citations.

**Recommendations to others considering Epocrates:**

Great for those who need a quick reference, but those in very narrow specialties, your knowledge and your colleague's knowledge will trump this. It has multiple features besides being a pharmacopedia, which makes it so versatile and useful.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to carry a book! I love how easy it is to look up drugs, dosing, or alternative treatment options. It's a quick reference when I don't have a lot of time to fully research a subject/drug.

  ### 10. Epocrates provides a method to search novel drug related information

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

It is extremely easy to search medication information on Epocrates. I can trust that Epocrates provides accurate, up to date medical information.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

The format that Epocrates provides their medical data can sometimes be difficult to find the mechanism of action or exactly what the medicine has been approved for.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As its very hard to keep up to date with novel medical information thats constantly changing, Epocrates provides a trustworthy way to increase our medical knowledge and patient care.

  ### 11. A must have for any medical professional

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan N. | General Surgery Resident, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

There is a reason this application is the number one medical reference application and why every physician I know has this on their phone or tablet. It's absolutely amazing for checking for drug interactions easily and quickly. It is the most comprehensive application I have found for this use. It's also great that you can check evidence based medicine resources for your diagnosis and treatment plans. It even includes herbal medications and supplements that were never taught in medical school but so many patients are using these days.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

I hate that you have to pay so much for the full version. I also do not like that it has become closely associated with pharmaceutical companies, making me wonder about the long term plans for the application.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to quickly and efficiently answer any and all questions I have regarding a patient's illness. I can double check facts so as not to make a costly medical dosing error.

  ### 12. It’s my go to for medical information.

Truthfully Epocrates has given me a new way to help my patients, especially when I’m stuck on something I don’t know. It will allow me to find the correct information and relay that.

  ### 14. Outstanding drug reference for clinicians

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Epocrates?**

I appreciate how easy it is to use Epocrates. I use it primarily as a drug reference, and it is fast to load and easy to find the information I need all in one place. It is my go-to clinical tool for drug reference. It also has a very easy to use drug-drug interaction checker that I reference as needed in my clinical work.

**What do you dislike about Epocrates?**

I dislike that for some drugs, the trade name link is useless because the information has been removed since the trade name drug has been discontinued. In that case it would be much easier if the drug information for the generic of the drug were available in that link, of if it were possible to click on a link directly on that page rather than have to go back to the previous page and find the correct drug that does have the full prescribing information.

**Recommendations to others considering Epocrates:**

It is easy to try out Epocrates with the basic, free subscription. It's the fastest and easiest drug reference app I've found.

**What problems is Epocrates solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to reference drug dosing as well as an interaction checker with Epocrates. This benefits my clinical practice because I am able to quickly look up information for drugs I prescribe less often. It allows me to get information I need in a quick and convenient way.
