**Reviewed by:** Matheus G. | Web Tech Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Cubase is a straightforward tool for both recording and live performance. VSTs are included, and the software is very light to install and does not require a powerful machine to export good-quality music files.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Cubase is expensive, not very popular but when compared to other services, such as ProTools is less costly and does an excellent job compared to itscompetitors.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase helps me create music with ease and pleasure. I can record professional songs within a couple of hours, add virtual instruments, record voices, chords, and keys and export to mp3 format in minutes.

  ### 6. Cubase - Little complicated but Good one.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suraj M. | Music Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

The Interface. I just Loved the interface of this DAW. First I found it a little complicated but after exploring it, I found it easier. At a moderate price, it is a good purchase.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

I found some Audio libraries a little confusing. I was not able to understand the shortcuts. Some documentation I found is a little confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Must try this amazing DAW, as it has a good library and user friendly.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My music-making is going to the next level. the sound library is amazing. I'm saving my time more as it is very user-friendly if you understand it properly.

  ### 7. Versatile, powerful, stable production, quality and clean audio.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ernesto Alfonso O. | Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

The efficiency of working with VST plugins is essential and provides greater stability while optimizing the team's resources since virtual memory is not wasted on a fancy graphical interface, all the tools are included with the base version. Great compatibility with all kinds of music hardware and controllers.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

It is complex, you have to understand very well how it works in order to make good use of it. You need training and many hours of practice to master this software.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Producing music is not easy, but Cubase helps to produce with professionalism, its virtual instruments save large sums of money by not having to spend on physical instruments.

  ### 8. The best digital audio workstation for producing with virtual instruments and MIDI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alejandro A. | Audio-Visual Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

What I like the most is the perfect integration for working on your music through the Midi language, in addition to the possibility of integrating any vst effect or instrument. The interface has improved a lot and the user experience has become very pleasant. The color system it uses is also appreciated, which helps reduce eye strain. It has everything one looks for in a professional digital audio workstation.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

What I don't like is that latency has to be managed manually; if you're not attentive to this, latency can give you a big headache. It's annoying to hear some of your audio tracks or instruments out of sync.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

If you are going to work with MIDI music or virtual instruments, as well as audio mixing and mastering, I recommend this software. BE careful with the latency if you don't know how to configure it, it can work against you.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have produced music in multitrack Midi format. I have analyzed audio samples and complete mixes for subsequent programming. I have made recordings of voices and instruments. I have done audio mixing and musical arrangements through virtual instruments.

  ### 9. Best Daw to Produce MIDI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adan R. | MIDI Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

It is a powerful music production tool, it has no comparison. The work flows flawlessly, I like the way they've been boosting midi sequencing lately. The built-in audio effects and vst are sufficient for any producer with medium knowledge. I like how intuitive and stable the software is to record, edit and mix both audio and Midi, either with external instruments or with built-in vst, it also has a huge sound library.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

I have had sudden crashes, and sometimes I have to reconfigure the outputs of midi instruments because they disconnect when the software is closed or the computer is restarted. I don't like that setup with most midi controllers has to be done manually and that takes time.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

If you are going to produce music, with vst or MIDI instruments this software is the best of all. although if you are going to work only in audio mixing and mastering, it is convenient to look for other options.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have recorded, edited, mixed and mastered my music in multiple formats, such as MIDI Multitrack, Mp3 or Wav, the software allows me to create in a very entertaining and professional way.

  ### 10. a very professional and complete music production software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabian C. | Productor Músical y AudioVisual, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I like the amount of third-party effects that can be included via vst plug-ins. I like how the interface has improved and all functions have been stabilized, the work to produce MIDI music is the best I have been able to try.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

I don't like that latency is handled manually; In other software dedicated to the same, latency is managed automatically. I don't like having to configure my midi controller manually.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

This is one of the most complete and powerful programs for the realization of any audio project in the music industry. Although it still has some things to improve, I highly recommend them as the work flows flawlessly.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have made musical productions in multitrack midi format, I have made audio samples of these songs for clients attending all the capture, editing, mixing and mastering processes only with plugins that come by default in the DAW.

  ### 11. The best production music software on the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fernando O. | Music composer / Mixing and mastering Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Stems export options (trust me, it's a GAME CHANGER). Midi functions ,Chord Track, Logical Editor, Track visibility options. Mixer views. Customizable midi lanes on the piano roll. Freeze instruments options. The new supervision plugin is AWESOME. Accurate LUFS metering,

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Price of the updates. Dongle needed (but they are going to fix it). The .0 versions of every update are usually buggy. It would be great to have a good stock limiter (the current one is really bad).

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase is the ONLY software I need to run my music business. Either if I'm hired to mix, master, compose a soundtrack, whatever. I can do everything with Cubase. I can do it fast, and with no issues at all.

  ### 12. A lot of features with some minor inconveniences

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maheshwara M. | Audio Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I love how easy it is to edit audio clips and tune vocals on straight on the daw without needing additional plugins. I also love the easy of using adding and using midi instruments.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

I personally found it alittle tasking to add and manage bus sends.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Cubase is a tool perfect for someone who does both production and mixing/mastering as it is a good jack of all trades.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem I have solved is recording and producing (midi) for tracks on the same DAW. I used to use ableton for production and pro tools for recording, editing and mixing.

  ### 13. Cubase LE Elements is perfect for this beginner home studio engineer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter R. | Director of Development, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

For me, the simplicity of setting up a project, recording tracks for new ideas, refining tracks, and applying simple effects, as well as the ability to share tracks and apply real-time group recording plugins have made this an invaluable tool for me.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

The licensing system was pretty gross for just getting started. It also did require a bit of research to learn how to do some simple items that are outside of the base documentation.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

I would make sure that you use the trail and make sure that it works for you. The cost is not high (for Elements), and the ROI on that cost is very high. I would also look into how you connect, adding the mobile app, and any plugins you think you might need. Cubase is super powerful and it has helped me to get better tracks for actual sound engineers.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am mostly a musician and songwriter who has very little home recording experience, so getting something that allowed me to try and learn some advanced techniques while also giving me some great tools to connect to the sound engineers I have used in the past has been a huge benefit for me. It also has helped me to understand some of the basic recording techniques and tools that real engineers use without relying on just out of the box settings that I was relying on with some of the free products I was using in the past.

  ### 14. Incredible sound management system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fred J. | English Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I like the tasks and the panels. The connectivity between the VSTs and hardware is fantastic. It always supplies an artist's needs while many friends suggest Protools; I believe Cubase always keeps it the best. I simply enjoy having my mastering and mixing with Cubase. I used to be an amateur sound engineer started with Cubase in 2009. I can't believe the amount of features and settings it can provide.I had an M-audio external soundcard, and It was a decent one as soon as I wired it and opened the program it gave me the tremendous equipment that I could manage to publish 3 mixtapes just by using this software, It is easy to use , accurate and well-equipped not to mention it's so smooth .

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Only A few things that I believe it's getting better and better, but sometimes the program forces you to choose a specific directory for saving the template, but there is a minor bug, and It doesn't let you change it. Also, the VST connection sometimes doesn't recognize the external car, making you restart the system for that. The price of it bugged a bit but after witnessing its tools, I was convinced to pay.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Cubas a great tool when it comes to creativity and freedom so that I recommend this software to all the independent artist and projects who likes to have smooth access to their artwork.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have solved all sort of sound engineering tasks, from beat making/mixing/mastering/ denoizer processing / delay / reverb / autotune fuctions / pitch shifting / chorus features .Easily expandable so I always had this chance to wire new add-on s on that in order to equip myself with more updated VSTs and sound effects .also My beatmaker could use many tools and effects from Cubase to create exclusive beats .

  ### 15. Best DAW for Music production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohit G. | Asst. Vice President - Information Security , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Ease of use, beautiful GUI, and the vast support of plugins and inbuild tools for music creation are best.

I loved the overall feel of cubase, and it always enabled me to record high-quality audio songs. It has inbuild tools that can help you to program drums and add various virtual instruments which sound real.

It has a decent console for mixing and mastering audio, and you can do pretty much everything you need to get the sound you are looking for from it.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Nothing that I can think of, It does its job as expected.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recoding guitar and programming drums and other instruments
It helped me with mixing and mastering of the songs that I have recorded for my band,

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Everything can be one inside Cubase. From recording to editing to mixing to mastering. No needs to use another software

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

The sample editor has always been a bit tricky. Too many windows

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can start a project and end it into Cubase. I like the edit containers window. Routing could be improved though

  ### 18. Best DAW fo Music Producers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Easy to use and produce music. Other DAW are somehow complicated to use.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

When it has load of VST instrumentsz it crashes the overall softwares and even some of the VST plugins are unable to cooperate with the software.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recordings, Making music with built-in and 3rd party plugins. Producing high quality music and upgrading my artistic capabilities.

  ### 19. Would be great but support is near impossible

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

The workflow of this software is far better than most I have used. Plug ins are simple to use and their control surfaces are super. For a long time this was my go to DAW

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

The support, based overseas and only available via email, has become a problem for me. My license key went bad, and I have emailed and emailed for support with no success. I have gone back to Pro Tools because of this.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted a more simple, robust DAW, and Cubase was my answer until I hit the support issue

  ### 20. My Cubase 10 experience, for 1 year

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** H. Ferry T. | Music Arranger, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

The most i love from cubase is the flexibility of use, user friendly and so many awesome festure to explore, the very best i think is the memory management for my bunch of vst instrument is awesome, i didn't even use anything software from another company to master and record my performance, i easily use the synthesizer with cubase for my production, the Asio driver are helping me so much for audio processing because i didn't use audio interface but mixer, the mixer and automation touch are very smooth with smoothing in hard curve, the composing thing is very easy for someone not too familiar with musicnotation or anything like musician do. But i do much easier because i know how to compose

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Cubase is hardly use at scores editing, i think about improving the scores editor or integrating wth any music notation software (Correct Me If I'm Wrong at integrating with the music notation) and the synchronizing with video was hardly use because the video preview is lagging. The autosave are very disturbing for me because its came with progra stopped unexpectedly. But the bak file at least helped me. Opening the 32 bit vst plugins is very effort to deal because i need to use another and another application to open the app. I don't know this appropriate or not for the 32 bit vst

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

It's easy to use, flexibility of use, user friendly and so many awesome festure to explore, the very best i think is the memory management for my bunch of vst instrument is awesome, professional application with bunch of good features to use, the plugin like sends and insert is easy to use, the composing is easy for beginners of music that didn't know anything about music notes and vst instrument ad library added so easily, the plugin itself its a porfessionals one to use like maserati and L1 ultramaximizer, the compability for WAVES central is very satisfyling, record performance is the best one, support for my synthesizer and midi keyboard are very helpful, The time and deadline are solved with easy to use of cubase, realistic clear sound of production, they can learn the applicationas fast you can!

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time and deadline are solved with easy to use of cubase, realistic clear sound of production, complete feature even there are L1 ultramaximizer and maserati for audio mastering, the universally support of plugin is very satisfying the waves audio support and kontakt player i use, compability of software is awesome at windows 10 newest editon, no bugs so far i explored the application. Mastering, metering and controlling the audio is very easy to deal with and without any struggling for controlling and mixing. Everything is all i solved with cubase

  ### 21. Great DAW

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Constantine J. | Sales Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

-Clean look, ease of use and workflow
-Good for mixing and tracking
-Scale assistant has been useful

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Automation could be better and some bugs. Not a lot of downsides other than Reaper becoming popular which in my area of works requires to work with it more. I know times are changing but High Sierra compatibility would have been great.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-Clean interface is a must for me and Cubase has always been great at that
-Easy to learn and work with
-Latency can cause problems and the monitor always comes handy when tracking

  ### 22. THE MOST POWERFUL AUDIO EDITION TOOL!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres M. | Productor Musical - Musico / Musical Producer - Musician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

The 64 bit motor are the best audio engine that I worked on my life, the customization of entire visual interface make that this software climb to the top on my professional ranking tools, I've try different DAWs but Steinberg compiles all necessary plug-ins and edition tools in one complete software, I love work everyday and I never feel tired. This DAW is designed for the enthusiasts and the PRO engineers that need the precision of the numbers and process. Now Includes video editing that is wonderful. The Variaudio program makes vocals correction precisely, the native plug-is like Tube Compresor have the really class C sound of analogical gear. I think that in future every engineer in world can be a professional user as the new standard of recording and editing industry. The performance with the new generation of PC and Mac computers is higher that other DAWs, I know all about it because I'm a user from Cubase 3x edition, and the improvement is amazing in comparative with the other ones.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

The customer service, and the chaos of upgrade prices, some bugs on Mac OS with VSTi that crash immediately.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Purchase with a local dealer.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the precision tools, I can drive my mixes and every productions near to the perfect dynamic range, this make that a lot of song can be made with the highest dynamic range because I can monitor all signals with numbers, that is impossible with the "standard" DAWs.

  ### 23. cubase is highly recommended

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnny E. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Cubase is arguably the most powerful DAW when it comes to MIDI, and it is no surprise that it is the DAW of choice for legendary film composers such as Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL. Whether you are writing music for television, video games or film, Cubase comes with many great features that makes it an excellent choice for MIDI composition.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

nothing except the price, it's little too much special if u want to stay up to date each year

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps me with my dj carrier specially when it comes to remix a song

  ### 24. Great for mixing and scores.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher A. | Music Producer / Composer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Mixing on Cubase is phenomenal - I also love how fluid it works with scoring for picture. There's a reason why so many film composers are so avid about Cubase.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Editing audio is less enhanced than on Logic / Ableton - I'd also state that stock synth options are less inclined for beginners.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase speeds up the scoring process, especially for commercial and picture. It also really aids in the fast turn around to engineer the same track. However, we find it relatively constricting creatively - so it's not out first choice DAW.

  ### 25. The reason why I would suggest cubase is because for music production wise as a composer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony J. | Sound Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

As a producer I love how the engine works for cubase . My ever favourite is tha halion. Man what a VST !! And I for me I love the stick plugins for mixing.
And so far I don't have anything that I have come across which I didn't like in cubase

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

My cubase has crashed couple of times and that was the only bummer , but that happen with every DAW.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Just go buy it and start exploring. You don't need anyone to teach you if you are a audio engineer. Just go for . It's always worth buying it

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Well to say my work flow is smooth in cubase maybe because this is only DAW I've been using the most
And if I have to mix I love how I can mix in cubase easier because it helps me in managing time which is good for business

Clear user interface and very intuitive software. The learning videos that the company provides are also great - I managed to find my way around and get to know all the functions right away.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

At the beginning the activation didn't work (several times) - after contact with the support our account was activated manually. The software needs at least 16gb ram.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the software for editing and post-production of audio tracks. Thanks to the software I can create finished, high quality audio files. The existing database of sounds and tones is unique.

  ### 29. Cubase is all you need for music production in your home studio, as musician or as professional

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo Fernández N. | Sr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Is powerful but eficient, great interface, tons of features but easy to use and with each new version you depend of less third party VSTs. Compatibility with older versions to share projects is getting better too.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Could have better support for higher resolution screen like mine (Samsung c49).

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

For many people is the industry standard. Software has been improves hugely across the years and they offer three versions to fit the price that works with you. Tons of tutorials, great support, tons of plugins (comes with a great and very usable collection of VSTs). I´ve been using it for more than 10 years now and I really think is the best option for music production.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase is really easy to use recording your own instrument, demos, a full band record, or anything you need in every kind of style you want. All with great output sound quality with or without a super powerful computer nor an exphensive sound card Is a COMPLETE studio for everyone in his house, studio... that can be moved without problems or higher costs. Years of improvements let you improve your skills and the sound you produce. There are also tons of compatible plugins, tutorials...

  ### 30. Great program for audio recording and editing, But GUI is a too much thing on screen.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Great program for editing and audio recording as a Pro.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

GUI is hard to understanding. The color is too dark grey, boring color.
And another thing is Price is expensive for an independent artists.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

This DAW is complex in making music, But the choice is yours.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chord assistant, Chord track

  ### 31. Excellent Production Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stuart M. | Commonwealth Games Technical Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I have always found Cubase to give the best sounding mix regardless of whatever type of project I am working on whether it be music or speech/voice over material.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Some other solutions can be more cost effective

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Cubase does come with some high quality plugins but you will need to add some premium plugins to complete the package

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase has excellent audio file editing features which give me greater accuracy

  ### 32. One of the most complete audio editing and music production tools I've used

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sterling R. | Media Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

There are many features in Cubase that let us control almost every component of audio and music sequencing. The default software has many different sounds in WAV and MIDI format. There are also many loops that we can use to get us started on looped tracks or to work into full tracks. Cubase can work smoothly with many standard industry plugins so that we can access more sounds and effects. I like that there are many videos and articles online that can help give me new ideas for audio projects.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Cubase is a professional audio editing platform, so being able to use it for full audio processing is not something that may come easily for basic users. Even for simple sound adjustments, it can take an experienced ear to be able to make fine adjustments to sound and note sequences. There aren't many editing templates that can effectively process audio in a reliable way.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Understanding how to use Cubase's many features can take years, but if you want to focus on basic editing, it can be a great way to achieve control over all aspects of your audio. I would recommend saving audio files to the largest file size possible so that it can maintain the quality when exported into other software.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can make adjustments to audio for podcasts, video and other post-production needs with Cubase. Instead of buying stock music or relying on one version of stock music, we can edit stock music to be more original or to add to it for specific videos needs. We can also add dialogue and clean up background noises to make the general audio more crisp for the viewer.

  ### 33. Cubase has lots of music loops that we use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Though I do use Cubase to make completely original music sometimes, we often use it in our business to create audio tracks from loops or presets for presentations or events. It can take a while to create tracks from scratch when you consider the mixing and mastering aspect, but using the preset tracks gives us a good start on the rhythm and note programming of the tracks.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Cubase often takes time when it comes to loading in general. For things like listening to sound preview, that can also take time and make starting new projects drag on a bit.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Many people probably don't think about using loops as much when using Cubase, but I think it's a good first option if just need balanced track fast.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having to use stock music tracks that aren't original or contain instruments or effects that may not fit our project needs. We can create quality tracks using loops and presets that have a professional sound. I can also use it for standard music programming with MIDI.

  ### 34. Not made for serious composers

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

It has many interesting features and stock plugins.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Most of the new features are GUI. Steinberg needs to hire more talented developers to do more interesting stuff. My biggest complain:

The Score Editor and many other features are very buggy and Steinberg does not have good customer service at all. You have every year two new releases without fixes of the bugs from before. Go on their office forum and see the complaints.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing! We just need a normal functional DAW.

  ### 35. Amazing Music Production Suite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blessen Sam M. | McAfee, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Cubase is one of the best music recording and production softwares in the market. I have used Cubase mainly for recording and without much experience I was easily able to start a session. The basic controls are very easy to understand and use and this makes Cubase very convenient for beginners. The huge amounts of vst instruments that it supports is also amazing. There are a lot of effects and instruments that comes with the software which are very good and the plugins are even better.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

As you learn more you find the software to be a bit confusing and you will need professional help to figure things out. There are few problems with the input and output channels and at times I had to restart the software and the problem would be fixed. The channels would randomly disappear and cause issues. The sound tracks that comes with the software are limited and it would be great if a much larger library is available. The feature to edit sounds of video tracks has alot of issues and needs a fix.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Cubase is one of the best music production softwares and anyone can learn it easily.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Cubase for recording a music album. We used a USB mixer and recorded the album. The software did a great job and was worth it.

  ### 36. Best Software for composers ever!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matteo P. | Composer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

The intuitive solutions that it has, usually with other software i need to use manuals etc, with cubase u think to a thing and after 1 second you are already doing the thing.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

It only miss the function that allow to send a group of notes to another track without closing and reopening the new track. I have seen this function only inside Digital Perfomer, but except for this, Cubase is really amazing!

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

That is the best DAW I have ever used, it's almost 20 years that i use it and it's the fastest a useful solution for composers. With Cubase everything is possible!!!

  ### 37. Powerful audio software

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Good mixing environment, powerful included plugins. Great Workflow. 64-bit audio engine provides excellent quality.

Everything about the software is amazing. It's easy to use and the most preferred feature is the plug inns available.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Some times it's difficult to toggle through the software as it hangs or crashes.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

If you are new to the music scene and need a solid foundation to go with, I completely recommend Cubase.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I completely use this for recording my vocals and using it for my band.

  ### 39. Best audio DAW for serious composers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fine Art | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I use multiple DAW programs including Logic Pro X, but cubase in terms of features and ease of use takes the bacon. I am able to quickly set up templates and save them for use on future projects. The program itself doesn't use much RAM compared to Logic, so I am left with more RAM to use for my instrument samples.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Some features are a little confusing to use and could be more streamlined when setting up.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

As always, check out any trial periods they may offer and compare them with other applications before purchasing.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to create powerful instrument templates using minimal system resources that I wouldn't able to do otherwise since I am using a mid-grade mac computer.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Cubase's interface can be somewhat challenging and even intimidating for those with no experience in music creation software.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase allows me to use several plug-ins, Reason and audio files within a single interface.

  ### 42. Excellent Top Notch Recording DAW

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I love the flexibility, quality, and scalableness of Cubase. You can have a basic setup to a very complex mix quickly. Customer service has also been great every time I have needed it. We have the ability to use it in any setting, facility, or campus.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

I wish the group routing was a bit more intuitive. I also wish the OMF option was for all versions big and small

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Having the ability to use different scaled versions for different applications is wonderful. they will maintain a consistency and quality also

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to get better workflow across multiple campuses, facilities, and users.

  ### 43. Has all of the primary tools you need for sound editing and music production

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Otis B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Cubase is a full-featured digital audio workstation that's been around for many years and is still one of the top choices for audio production. I like that I can import a raw track and remove background noise from it and compress the track to make it sound sound fuller, which can help to bring out the best in whatever project I'm working on. After you take some time to learn how to use it, Cubase is relatively easy to use. You can add new track, whether they're MIDI tracks, audio recordings or a sound pattern, and just start laying a song down right away with just your mouse and keyboard. You can easily add a MIDI controller to program sounds with a keyboard or a drum pad.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

Overall, Cubase is still an advanced editing tool and will probably be pretty difficult for beginners to use in a meaningful way. Even after you use it for a long time, you may still not be able to make really good tracks without having a strong background in music production. You have to understand mixing, balancing sounds and have a lot of experience with each of the tools and plugins that you use to create tracks. The price for Cubase is a bit high, but that's to be expected for professional software like this. I could probably get away with using cheaper software to do lots of the stuff I do with audio in Cubase, but for me, I like to use it because I want to be able to learn it little by little a be really good at it at some point in the future.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Cubase isn't the most user-friendly audio software, so if you're not really into music production and don't understand the nuances of sound editing, then Cubase is probably not the best fit for you. You might want to try out free software like Audacity or lower cost software like light versions of Pro Tools. A simple Google search can show you a good handful of free or low-cost software that you can start out with for basic editing like cleaning up the background noise or compressing tracks. If you want to just cut tracks, you can actually do that in video editing programs like iMovie or Windows Movie Maker.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been able to take raw sounds and edit them cleanly so that they can make lots of the video projects I work on more professional. I can also save money from not having to buy stock music, since I can create basic tracks that we can use as background music in things like corporate video, social media videos or website videos. We can use existing projects on Cubase for new projects. We can keep the settings so we don't have to start from scratch. We can use most of the same levels and such so that we can have similar sounding tracks across all of our media.

  ### 44. I have been using cubase since 2004, and i still use it today!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will j. | Self Employed, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Cubase has served me very well over the years, its a lot easier to use than Pro Tools, the layout is more simple, but still functional. everything you need is clearly laid down for you to see

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

The price is a little steep, but it is a very good program and is worth the premium you pay. the sound quality doesn't seem to be as good a pro tools ,but i'm not sure

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Easier than Pro Tools

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cubase was a big stepup of Audacity for when i mix/mater tracks for my clients

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

Best value you will get from a recording suit.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for professional music recording of original songs fro albums and for mixing down the songs. It works well and is qucik to learn, but deep enough to get the job done.

  ### 49. Compact and powerfull DAW. The best quality for audio recording.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan C. | Propietario y Presidente de empresa, Photography, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

Simply connect an audio interface or mixing board to your USB port and select as your main input device in the "Device Configuration" menu. Then you can record instruments and microphones directly into Cubase without any noise interference, as you would in a professional studio.
Using Cubase, you can record an entire band arrangement, including guitars, bass, percussion, synthesizers and sound effects, using nothing more than a MIDI keyboard. Just connect a MIDI control keyboard to your USB port, open the "VST Instruments" menu (in "devices" in the menu bar) and select an instrument sound you want to emulate.
Multi-Tracking: You can record the drum in one song, your drum in another, the bass in another and then the guitar in a track room. This allows you to maintain full control over the sound when mixing and mastering. Cubase allows you to create an unlimited number of individual tracks and record in the same way, just like professionals.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

The learning curve. At first can be a headhache to familiarized with it. It took me while to master it. But once you handled it, can be a very powerfull tool depending on your needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

It is perfect for when you are recording with a band. The quality of the audio recording is "A1" .
If you have a home studio i highly recomends Cubase for his versatility and high quality features. At first can be annoying and complex to use. But its definitely deserves the try.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am developing my own music label and i started with a home studio. At the begining Cubase fitted perfect for my needs. I am always in the looking for the best DAW. Cubase is definitely in the top. His versatility allows you to record the highest quality sounds and do the mixing and mastering on a upper echelon level, Is the right DAW for when you are recording with a band. It defenitely improved my work and take it to the next level.

  ### 50. The easiest-to-use software when it comes to recording audio in exceptional quality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugh C. | COACH MOTIVACIONAL, Graphic Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2017

**What do you like best about Cubase?**

I have been using Cubase for a long while and I can say that it is the easiest-to-use software you will find. I am a fan of some of its features such as its cut and delete option, which allows me to erase any part of an audio recording that I do not like in just seconds. Another cool feature is its simple copy and paste system that allows me to record an audio file, and simply select that track, copy and then paste it, so that my audio has more volume and deepness. The most important part is that Cubase is really easy to use and learn.

**What do you dislike about Cubase?**

When I first bought Cubase, it was really hard to instal on my computer and make it work with my audio card: it said on the box that the installation and set-up with most audio card was simple and quick, basically, I just had to follow the instructions on the screen and download the right plug-ins, but this was not true, , as I had to spend almost 5 days trying to make the software work with my current audio card.

**Recommendations to others considering Cubase:**

If you are like me, and you are trying to pick out the best recording software among the many offerings out there, then my suggestion is that you use Cubase, as it is really easy to use and the quality of the recordings (if you have a nice audio card / DAW) is top notch.

**What problems is Cubase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the jobs I do as an owner of a home freelancing business is voicing over videos. Because of this, I need a reliable and professional software that allows me to record the audio for those videos in an easy way, and label them quickly as well. Cubase helps me achieve this task with extreme ease, because recording with this software is a piece of cake.
