It's very easy to use, clear, and fast to operate. I love that it has a lot of features, especially in the mobile app. It’s very easy to do estimates, track jobs, and handle invoicing, and the marketing tools help us track where leads come from. Having these tools all in one app makes it a much better experience than our previous software, Jobber. The optimization feature is incredibly useful, saving us time and allowing us to complete more jobs across the city. I also appreciate that the ArboStar team constantly adds new features to keep us up to date with the industry. I can get more estimates done per day, instead of trying to remember and calculate the cost of a 2-man, 3-day job, plus equipment and taxes. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** The initial prices do need to be imputed ahead of time, which only makes sense, and after that, you're good to go for however many estimates your company needs. So I don't know if spending a bit of time at the start to save hundreds of hours of time in the future is a con, but it's all I can think of. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Great platform. It lets me show up to any prospective leads, talk to the homeowner, and after investigating the property I simply type things like job size and type, equipment needed, etc., and the app gives me a fully calculated estimate right then and there. No guesswork is required. Man-hour rates, equipment fees, and all that were entered in when we got the app, and now it's just a matter of checking boxes for every job. Basically think of all the mental notes you keep in your head, all the many apps you use each day, all the spreadsheets you have to update, all the emails you have to send out, just think of everything. Now imagine all of that being handled under ONE platform. That's what ArboStar is for me. It really is as advertised an "all-in-one" package. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** Ironically, the pros are also the cons. I haven't counted, but this thing must have 20 or more modules. From estimates to inventory, to invoicing, to automated client follow-ups, to in-company communication, to payroll… I can't even name it all. So it's a lot to get used to, but you can take it one step at a time and it's all quite intuitive. Thankfully ArboStar lets me call them for no charge whenever I can't quite figure something out. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** Honestly, I'm always hesitant about changing the way I run things. I inherited my business from my dad and we've always done things a certain way. But I kept hearing about CRMs and these apps and how great they were. Anyway, fast-forward and I'm in a call with an ArboStar rep who's giving me a free demo of all the features. I show up to the job site knowing exactly what equipment I'll need, I check the photos that are noted and marked by GPS so it's completely impossible to pick the wrong tree. This app is great. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** Old habits die hard, so at first, I felt like I was fine doing things the old way. But I can be a bit stubborn like that, and after I finally gave in, I was impressed from the get-go. So the only con I can really think of is you gotta add in something to your work process, but it saves you so much time per job site that it's definitely worth it. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can only speak from my own uses of the app, which is just a small portion of what the app does, apparently. It pulls financial data from the other modules and auto-populates the reports module with said data, allowing for easier and more accurate reports free from human error. This makes it a breeze to generate any and all reports that I think might be useful and might steer the company in a better financial direction. These reports have also shown us where we're overspending and where we can trim the fat to save on expenses. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** Nothing to criticize. Very pleased with this app. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** I'm not a tech guy at all. I'm lucky if I can get Netflix to work. So I was a little unhappy at first when we were told we had to start using this software. But honestly, it didn't take too long to learn, and now it makes my job way easier. So if you're like me and don't like fancy apps, don't worry. Everything is laid out in a way that makes sense, and I'm shocked at how easy it was to get familiar with. Now it's like second nature to me. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** From a boots-on-the-ground perspective, I think this app is excellent. The app works right from my smartphone and allows me to do my job quicker and immediately resolve any issues that come up. I've started to see it as another essential tool in my toolkit. A couple of weeks ago, I forgot to charge my phone, so I had to borrow my wife's, which didn't have the app installed, and it felt like I was missing a vital tool throughout the day. I never knew that the same type of software is out there for the tree-care industry. Making the switch was great, as having software specific to the tree-care niche gives us access to tools we didn't previously have. Things like fleet management and HR issues are obviously specific to the tree-care industry, so having software that's specific to those issues allows us to be so much more efficient. Issues can be handled right in the app, and the fleet management module is particularly useful compared to our previous software. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** As with any new technology, there's a learning period that you have to go through to become comfortable with the software truly. I used my old software for many years, so at first, I was hesitant to switch. But ArboStar is just better suited for the tree-care industry than the catch-all software our business users, so I'm glad I took the time to learn a new system. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am happy with this software and have no plans to go back. Everything is divided into modules, and each module is a gem in its own right. It learns what types of estimates you have made in the past and auto-suggest an estimate that you can tweek if you find too high or too low. This has taken a lot of the guesswork out of the situation, as often the estimate is dead-on. The pipeline from initial assessment to work orders is also very efficient. Once I confirm an estimate, I can send it right over in the app, and it just moves down through the system. It's a really effortless interface and makes things easy. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** I suppose the only con would be if you wanted to use this app for a different field. It is specifically designed for the arborist niche, so make sure you keep that in mind. My friend runs a painting company, and while I wish I could suggest this to him, it just is too specific to the tree care industry. But if you deal with trees, this is the app you want! **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** The learning curve has been challenging but engaging, as there are so many features to work with. The features all make life easier, though, so even if they take a bit of time to learn initially, they more than makeup for it in the long run. I also really find the GPS photo-tagging ability to be very convenient. Instead of trying to describe trees and locations, I can snap a photo, and it's tagged by its location, so there's no confusion for the workers. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** I had an initial issue on mobile, but I contacted the customer service team, and they responded promptly and accurately, solving my issue. For any people in accounting out there, that's basically all I need to say! This app makes everything so much more streamlined: invoicing, payments, record-keeping, you name it. I wasn't sure what to expect when I was asked to switch to this app, but after the first week, I was sold. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** Nothing to really complain about. Sometimes I get confused about where certain features are located, but I can refer to the documentation to sort that out. I have also been using the software for a few months now, and the more I use it, the less confused I get, which is always a good sign! **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm really glad our company made the switch. Initially, I didn't want to, as I know QuickBooks, and it's what I've used for over a decade now. Instead of having to juggle multiple apps while I'm on a call with a client, I can simply let one app do all of the work. Honestly, I wish the company I work for had started using software like this when I first joined the team. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** There's definitely a bit of a learning curve when it comes to getting the most out of the app. I personally started off slow and used the features that made sense to me and incorporated new ones into my work process as I understood them. Just don't expect to understand everything the app offers on day one. It took me some tinkering around to really get used to everything. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been using ArboStar for about a month now and am so far very impressed with what I've seen so far. It makes my job so much easier – it allows me to take down customer information into as many cells as needed and automatically create estimates, work orders, and invoices. The built-in GPS features are second to none and make the actual work so much more accurate. You can literally mark individual trees on the app, eliminating any confusion when it comes to getting the work done. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** As easy as this app is to get used to, there are so many features and report options that it can definitely seem overwhelming at first. What I did was just tackle each part piece by piece, getting to know each feature before moving on to the next. But if you just tried to dive in and started tapping around wildly, you might find yourself in over your head. Make sure to follow the instructions and take some notes if you have trouble with feature-rich apps. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** This app has been a huge time-saver for me. Everything in the app is streamlined and easy to use. As far as apps go, this one is definitely on the cleaner side of things. Everything is logically placed and easy to find, which makes my job that much easier. This alone, for me has been a game-changer. I no longer have to send out each individual email and SMS message to my clients. I no longer have to remember which invoices still need to be sent, and which clients I haven't spoken to in a while. Everything is done within the app, and so much can be set up automatically. The app is also surprisingly easy to learn. As I said, I'm more old-school in my approach, so I thought there might be a steep learning curve, but honestly, within the first week of using the app, I was already getting the hang of it. And I'd imagine someone even more tech-savvy than me could get into the swing of things even faster. **What do you dislike about ArboStar?** I really don't have anything to complain about. I'm wondering if there are more features that I don't even know exist because I feel like I'm constantly discovering more that this app can do. Maybe I could do with some big documentation that can help to explain the potential of every feature. **What problems is ArboStar solving and how is that benefiting you?** ArboStar has definitely changed the way my business runs for the better. We really wanted to go paperless, and this really helped! Before ArboStar, we'd have to tell customers they'd need to call the office to pay with their card.
