Lookeen può cercare email e documenti. Lo sto usando per indicizzare e cercare email in un ambiente Microsoft Exchange. Una volta ottenuto l'indice, la ricerca è piuttosto veloce (ma non in tempo reale mentre si digita la query) e accurata. Le ricerche possono essere eseguite utilizzando uno qualsiasi dei molti campi diversi (ad esempio, oggetto, mittente, destinatario, cartella, data, ecc. ecc.) permettendo di trovare relativamente facilmente il contenuto richiesto. I risultati della ricerca possono essere letti direttamente nel riquadro di lettura, che può essere anche organizzato in diverse visualizzazioni. Dal riquadro di lettura è possibile eseguire comandi, come spostare, copiare, eliminare, ecc. Gli elementi possono ovviamente essere aperti semplicemente cliccando su di essi. Il costo della licenza è accessibile, considerando le caratteristiche del software. L'installazione è facile e non richiede alcuna abilità particolare. Lookeen is certainly a very good search software and there is not so much to dislike. As a fact, I tried many search applications and eventually I settled on Lookeen.
However there are few things that can be improved. The most important in my opinion is the indexing, which is painfully slow. I am working with some 50 Gb of mailbox and to complete the first index takes more than 4 days (I am working with a laptop powered by an intel i5 with a high speed internet connection to access the MS Exchange in the cloud). Other softwares in the same conditions were much faster (less than 2 days). Once the index has been created, then the daily changes are dealt with quite fast and transparently for the user. However, if you move/rename an entire folder in the mailbox expect a couple of days of re-indexing, which is quite annoying.
Other minor things which an be improved are the search speed and the possibility to use boolean expressions. Recensione raccolta e ospitata su G2.com.
