&lt;p&gt;The part I’d test is whether the project work survives contact with an engineer’s actual stack. Guided projects are useful, but the bigger learning jump happens when someone has to apply the same idea to an unfamiliar codebase, existing dependencies, and constraints the course didn’t design for. That transfer is probably a better signal than project-based learning alone.&lt;/p&gt;
