# Which employee intranet platforms do teams actually keep using beyond rollout instead of reverting?

I'm looking into which employee intranet platforms teams actually keep using beyond rollout instead of quietly reverting to email and shared drives a few months later, since intranet adoption tends to spike at launch and then fade once the novelty wears off.

ThoughtFarmer: Features like following a page, shout-outs to coworkers, and document retention have been embraced by the majority of employees well past rollout, with one organization specifically contrasting it against a legacy intranet that most people had stopped using entirely. Does that sustained engagement hold up years in, or does it eventually need a refresh to stay relevant?

Haiilo: Functions as the go-to reference for everything from planned maintenance updates to org charts and wiki links, becoming enough of a daily habit that employees rely on it as their starting point for finding information.

Sociabble: Centralizes information into one reliable place employees actually revisit rather than check once and abandon, with one organization noting their usage held steady even as employee headcount nearly doubled.

For anyone who has watched adoption over a longer stretch, what's usually the actual tipping point where a team either sticks with the intranet or quietly drifts back to old habits?

The tipping point is usually whether the intranet becomes part of everyday work rather than another destination employees have to remember to visit. I’d look at search usefulness, freshness of content, integrations with existing tools, and whether managers consistently publish there first—because once email becomes the more reliable source again, adoption usually starts to slide.
