# Which content tools really help prove content ROI?

It helps optimize what’s already working and double down on ROI-positive campaigns.

We’ve found Semrush the easiest to use when the ROI conversation starts with search. It doesn’t prove total business impact on its own, but it does a good job showing which content is gaining visibility, driving traffic, and supporting conversions over time.

I have used all three tools quite extensively. Beyond the tool of choice, one thing that changed our approach was tracking the ROI of content reuse. A single blog turned into email, social, and sales assets often delivers more value than what any one tool reports.

We use Ahrefs a lot, but more for the long-term story than immediate ROI. It’s been really helpful when I need to show how content builds authority and compounds over time, even if the short-term conversion impact isn’t super clear.

We ran into this exact issue internally. The tools that helped prove content ROI were different depending on who was looking at it. SEO liked Ahrefs for authority and organic growth, leadership looked more at Similarweb for market movement, and demand gen cared more about GA plus conversion reporting. In practice, proving ROI usually meant pulling data from a few different tools rather than relying on one platform.

I’ve seen Ahrefs shine for long-term ROI, but Similarweb is eye-opening for strategy pivots. Anyone else using a combo like this one?
