# Which AI legal assistant platforms handle contract redlining for small legal teams?

GC AI, Spellbook, and LegalOn are the platforms reviewers mention most often for contract redlining in G2's AI Legal Assistant category, though it's worth flagging upfront that review data consistently describes AI-generated contract analysis as requiring attorney verification rather than running fully unsupervised. Decision factors worth weighing include native integration with existing drafting tools, cost relative to a small team's budget, and how much manual cleanup the redlines actually require.

Spellbook (4.7/5, 29 reviews): Reviews describe it as focused on drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts directly inside Microsoft Word, which reviewers say fits teams that already negotiate agreements in that environment rather than switching to a separate platform. Time-saving document review is cited consistently as its core value.

LegalOn (5/5, 10 reviews): Reviews describe strong contract review capabilities for identifying key issues and risks, with reviewers specifically praising ease of use and intuitive design. The review base is still small, so teams should validate it against their own contract types before relying on it.

Jurist (4.4/5, 15 reviews): Reviews describe quick review of contracts with surfaced key clauses, risks, and deviations from standard terms, and reviewers specifically note good value for the price, which matters for smaller teams managing software spend.

GC AI (4.9/5, 7 reviews): G2 listings describe it as built for in-house legal teams, who use it for initial contract analysis and regulatory research before independent review, a common approach to AI-assisted redlining.

For small legal teams running one of these without a big budget for oversight, how much of the redlining can actually be trusted without a second human review pass? Has anyone found a tool that meaningfully reduces that verification step rather than just speeding up the first draft?

For a small team, I'd compare the tools on a familiar contract and an agreed review playbook. The useful score would be how many suggested changes the reviewer accepts, how many issues need additional work, and the time to a review-ready document. I'd also check that tracked changes, comments, and formatting survive the Word round trip. For Spellbook or LegalOn users, is the bigger saving finding issues, drafting replacement language, or handling the document itself?
