# What should monday.com teams check when an AI-generated chart picks a metric they don't actually track?

Something I've been mapping out is what monday.com teams check when an AI-generated chart picks a metric they don't actually track. The check people describe on G2 is simple: compare the chart against the board's own columns before sharing it, and swap in the metric the team reports on if the AI chose a more flattering one. The same build, check and adjust loop applies when no dashboard template fits, and very large, heavily customised boards are where reports take a little longer to load. A wrong metric on a leadership dashboard is the outcome the check prevents. What monday.com does well is keep the underlying data current: automations update statuses without anyone touching them, so once the right metric is chosen, the dashboard stays accurate on its own.

Dashboards are also what people value for day-to-day oversight: customisable views of pending tasks and team progress, with automations keeping statuses current. In project management, that makes monday.com a good fit for teams who know what they want to measure, because the statuses feeding the dashboard stay accurate without manual updates. The trial and error lands on teams still deciding which metrics matter.

Agreeing the few metrics a dashboard is for, before building it, seems to cut most of the adjusting.

Which metrics ended up on your main dashboard after a few rounds? And do you let AI draft charts, or build them yourself and use AI for the written summary?

Comparing the chart against the board's own columns before sharing is such a simple habit. With statuses updating on their own, the dashboard stays accurate once the metric is right.
