I’d work backward from an actual funder report. Pick an outcome the nonprofit promises to measure, then trace whether the system can connect that result to services delivered, case notes, dates, and the relevant client population without rebuilding the story in spreadsheets. Flexible forms are useful, but the bigger test is whether data captured during normal casework becomes credible impact evidence later without asking frontline staff to document everything twice.
