# What is the best bot detection platform for a mid-size ecommerce company switching from Cloudflare?

I keep seeing mid-size ecommerce teams outgrow Cloudflare's bot protection and look for something more specialized, usually after false positives or tuning headaches. And did the replacement hold up at checkout?

Switching from Cloudflare's bundled bot protection to a dedicated vendor is also switching from one vendor in the checkout path to two, since these dedicated tools typically run as an additional script layered on top of whatever CDN is still serving the site. That's worth weighing against the bot-coverage improvement itself: better detection is the upside, but a second vendor in the checkout flow is also a second thing that can slow a page down or fail closed if its own script hiccups. "Did the replacement hold up at checkout" probably needs to cover whether checkout got measurably slower or gained a new failure mode, not just whether bot traffic actually dropped, since a coverage win that costs you conversion friction isn't a clean upgrade.
