# What are the highest-rated load balancing solutions for companies requiring high availability and automatic failover?

Yeah for HA and automatic failover, a few highly-rated options stand out depending on where you run. HAProxy is a favorite, it&#39;s a proven, high-performance load balancer built around health checks and failover, and it rates very well with engineers. F5 NGINX is the other strong software option, widely used for load balancing and HA in front of web apps. If you want it delivered globally as a service, Cloudflare&#39;s platform includes load balancing with health checks and automatic failover across regions, and Azure Application Gateway is the native choice if you&#39;re on Azure. To be real, the right pick depends on self-managed versus cloud-native, HAProxy and NGINX give you control, the cloud services give you less to operate. Are you running your own infrastructure, or looking for a managed, global failover setup?
