# What are the best proactive customer retention platforms judged on churn prediction accuracy rather than the promise of it?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi, customer success leaders and G2 reviewers who have watched a health score go green on an account that later churned. I am after the best<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/proactive-customer-retention"> </a><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/proactive-customer-retention">proactive customer retention</a> platforms judged on churn prediction accuracy rather than the promise of it, and would value input from teams who have checked their scores against what actually happened.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Every platform in this category claims to predict churn. The useful question is how far ahead the warning arrives, and whether it is built on signals a CSM can verify. Three that come up most:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/gainsight-customer-success/reviews"><strong>Gainsight Customer Success</strong></a> (4.5) combines multi-dimensional health scoring with call-to-action workflows, so a risk signal becomes an assigned task rather than a dashboard entry. Reviewers credit it directly with reducing churn. Two caveats they raise: expectations set during the build are worth pinning down in writing, and free self-serve training is limited, which matters if you want to own the instance yourself.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/totango/reviews"><strong>Totango</strong></a> (4.3) and its<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/totango-catalyst/reviews"> </a><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/totango-catalyst/reviews"><strong>Catalyst</strong></a> (4.5) product sit alongside it in this category, and both are widely reviewed by mid-market and enterprise CS teams.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/churnzero/reviews"><strong>ChurnZero</strong></a> (4.7) carries the strongest rating of the large platforms here, with a very high share of five-star reviews from software and IT services companies.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">One honest note: G2 review data tells you how teams rate the platform, not how accurate its model is. Has anyone here actually tested their health score against a full year of renewals, and what did it get wrong?</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"></p>

&lt;p&gt;Gainsight turning a risk signal into an assigned task instead of a dashboard entry is the meaningful difference here. A health score that nobody acts on isn&#39;t really predicting anything useful.&lt;/p&gt;
