Cloudflare&#39;s &quot;set-and-forget&quot; and AWS&#39;s &quot;hands-off elasticity&quot; are both real, but they&#39;re conditional in ways worth separating for a SaaS company specifically, since SaaS often comes with compliance needs, like data residency requirements across regions, that a generic web app doesn&#39;t have. Cloudflare&#39;s simplicity comes from outsourcing routing decisions to a third-party global edge you don&#39;t control; AWS&#39;s comes from staying entirely inside AWS&#39;s own networking assumptions. Either one&#39;s &quot;minimal complexity&quot; probably holds right up until a SaaS-specific requirement, like needing traffic to stay within a specific region for compliance reasons, falls outside what that platform assumes by default, and that&#39;s likely where the complexity this post is trying to avoid actually creeps back in for this particular buyer, more than through routing rules or cost.
