# What are the best ERP systems for consolidating payroll, attendance, and leave into a single platform to reduce Excel chaos?

When payroll, attendance, and leave live in separate spreadsheets, every pay run begins with manual cross-checking. The best ERP systems for reducing that Excel chaos should connect employee time, absence records, and payroll calculations without creating another round of exports and reconciliations.

The most relevant review signals were whether time data feeds payroll, leave balances remain visible, and HR and finance can work from the same records. Four G2 Grid products came closest:

Odoo (3.9, 18 reviews): The strongest direct match for this workflow. Reviewers mention an annual absence calendar, working-hours documentation, punch-in and punch-out, payroll, sick-day tracking, and leave management. One HR reviewer did encounter problems exporting financial data, so the accounting handoff is worth testing.

NetSuite (4.1, 4,943 reviews): Project hours can flow into payroll calculations and client invoices, while HR, accounting, and operational data sit in the same environment. Reviewers also describe replacing disconnected spreadsheets, although one payroll specialist felt the payroll functionality and initial setup needed improvement.

SAP Cloud ERP (SAP S/4HANA Cloud) (4.4, 1,060 reviews): A reviewer using its FICO, materials, plant, and HR modules said the company no longer needed separate software for those processes. It offers broad consolidation for larger organizations, but setup complexity, pricing, and the learning curve could make it excessive for teams seeking a quick spreadsheet replacement.

TallyPrime (4.4, 306 reviews): Payroll tasks such as employee salaries, PF, and ESI were described as simple, and multiple accountants could work from the same cloud-hosted data. There’s less evidence around attendance and leave, so it appears better suited to payroll and accounting consolidation than complete workforce management.

Did any of these systems eliminate spreadsheets completely, or do exceptions still send the team back to Excel?

Curious how this looks for teams that migrated mid fiscal year. Getting historical leave balances and prior payroll runs to map cleanly into a new system feels like it could be its own headache, separate from just keeping the day to day sync working.
