This feels like a genuine gap in the market, because multi-touch attribution is exactly the kind of analysis small teams need to justify budget, but the tools that do it well tend to be priced for companies that already have the budget to spend.

From the Marketing Analytics Software category, here's what's actually available at the lower end of the cost curve:

Google Analytics: Offers data-driven attribution and basic model comparison on the free tier. Reviewers describe it as a usable starting point for understanding channel contribution, though the attribution logic is a black box and the reporting requires some configuration to surface the right view.

HubSpot Marketing Hub: Entry-level attribution tied to the CRM is available on lower tiers, with more sophisticated multi-touch models unlocking as you move up. Reviewers at small B2B teams describe the starter tier as covering basic first-touch and last-touch attribution, which is enough for early-stage decisions.

WhatConverts: Focuses on lead-level attribution at a price point more accessible than enterprise analytics platforms. Reviewers managing paid campaigns describe it as the tool that gave them defensible attribution data without needing a data team to build a custom model.

Databox: Strong for aggregating performance data across channels but not a true attribution tool on its own. Reviewers describe using it alongside other data sources to get a consolidated view, with attribution being handled upstream by the platforms feeding into it.

For smaller teams working with limited budgets, where do you end up compromising more: the depth of the attribution model, or the cost of getting something that actually works?

The GA attribution being a black box is what makes it genuinely hard to defend to stakeholders. You can show the numbers but you can't explain the logic behind them and that becomes a problem fast.
