# Is AudienceView Professional worth it for theater venue management?

Is AudienceView Professional worth it for theater venue management? This is worth answering plainly rather than just listing features, since the reviews actually split pretty clearly between very happy long-term users and a smaller group describing real limitations.

AudienceView Professional: the majority of reviewers describe it as flexible, reliable, and well supported, with one organization specifically crediting a smooth four-year-old conversion and ongoing updates for keeping their team's daily operations running without interruption. The real complaints cluster around a few specific gaps, no cash drawer integration, limited full-map visibility during sales, and pricing that feels high if you're not using the full feature set.

ThunderTix: for comparison, reviewers describe a similar core ticketing and box office experience at a generally lower price point, though it's built more around subscription pricing than the deeper donor and membership layering AudienceView offers.

Tessitura: for organizations outgrowing a simpler platform, reviewers describe Tessitura as the next step up in complexity and cost, unifying ticketing with fundraising and analytics at a scale AudienceView's typical smaller nonprofit reviewer base doesn't usually need.

For anyone who actually adopted AudienceView Professional recently: did it end up being worth the cost and the learning curve for your organization's size, or did you find yourself using only a fraction of what it offers?

The cost you're really weighing is the donor and membership layer stacked on top of ticketing, and that only pays off if fundraising actually runs through it rather than a separate donor CRM. If development lives in its own system like Salesforce or Bloomerang, you're paying for a layer you'll never fill, which is exactly the "expensive, using a fraction" complaint, except the cause is an architecture choice, one unified patron record versus best-of-breed, not feature overkill. Put plainly: if donors get entered in two places, you've bought the pricey half of a suite to run it as a plain ticketer, and a cheaper ticketing-first tool does the job you're actually using.
