# Is Absorb LMS worth it for Customer Success Managers, based on what reviewers say about hands-on skill adoption?

I dug into this one carefully, because there's an honest mismatch worth surfacing: Absorb LMS is a structured learning platform, not a live lab tool, so "hands-on skill adoption" is only part of what it does well. Here's how I'd frame whether it's worth it for CSMs, alongside the tools that fill the gaps, all from the customer education space:

Absorb LMS is strong where adoption comes from structured delivery: role-based learning paths, native authoring, automated enrollment, and clean tracking of who completed what. It drives adoption through guided, consistent courses rather than live sandboxes. Best for structured onboarding and completion tracking.

Skilljar is worth comparing directly, since it's purpose-built for external customer education and connects learning data to actual product usage, which is closer to measuring real adoption. Best for tying education to product usage.

CloudShare is where genuine hands-on practice lives, giving customers a realistic environment to build muscle memory, which many pair with an LMS. Best for the true hands-on layer.

So is Absorb worth it? For CSMs who want reliable, structured onboarding and clear completion data, reviewers point to solid automation and a clean experience, with the honest caveats of an admin learning curve and some analytics behind add-ons. But if "hands-on skill adoption" means live practice, you'd likely pair it with a lab tool rather than expect the LMS to do that part. What does adoption actually mean for your team, course completion or demonstrated in-product skill? That decides whether Absorb alone is enough.

For me, adoption means demonstrated in-product skill, not just course completion. Completion data is useful, but I’d want to see whether customers can actually perform the workflow on their own before calling the training successful.
