# Dynamics 365 Guides vs TeamViewer Frontline for enterprise AR training: which AR training simulator platform is worth the deployment effort for a large organisation?

Quick and honest take upfront: the G2 reviews for both Dynamics 365 Guides and TeamViewer Frontline, part of the wider AR training simulator category, turned out to be a lot less clean than I expected once I actually read through them, which is worth knowing before anyone makes a deployment decision based on their star ratings alone.

Dynamics 365 Guides: of the reviews tagged under this product, only a couple actually describe the HoloLens based Guides tool itself, mentioning 3D guides for site engineers and live 3D feed sharing while debugging, with HoloLens hardware cost called out as the main scaling barrier. Most of the other reviews under this listing are actually describing the broader Dynamics 365 CRM and ERP suite, which is a different product entirely and not something I'm counting toward this specific question.

TeamViewer Frontline: the reviews I could find under this listing read almost entirely like reviews of general TeamViewer remote desktop support, accessing a colleague's computer, IT troubleshooting, screen sharing, rather than the industrial AR guided work platform TeamViewer actually describes Frontline as being. I couldn't find genuine reviewer descriptions of the AR or smart glasses side of Frontline specifically in what's available.

Given how much of both products' review data doesn't actually match the specific tool being asked about here: has anyone deployed either Dynamics 365 Guides or TeamViewer Frontline specifically for its AR or mixed reality capability at a large organization, and would you be willing to share what that experience actually looked like, since it's genuinely hard to find that story in the public reviews right now?

Being a big fan of AR tech, I found this discussion to be quite insightful!

From what I've seen too, the broader Dynamics suite in one case and general remote-desktop TeamViewer in the other, so their public star ratings say very little about the AR capability being compared. It also means the two aren't clean peers in practice, since one is anchored to HoloLens hardware and the other to a smart-glasses guided-work platform, and the deployment effort differs accordingly. Given how little of the AR-specific story surfaces in reviews, the decision probably hinges more on which hardware ecosystem a large org can realistically standardize on than on any rating either product currently shows.
