Why was I getting Australia phone numbers?
Yesterday I tried to set up a new meeting and the invitation included Australian phone numbers for others to use to join the meeting. I am in the United States, so this made no sense. I spent several hours looking for a solution and couldn't find one. Finally, I deleted my account and opened a new one. This experience was frustrating and costly.

I believe it has to do with your settings.
From iOS:
Settings >> Click your email (MyProfile) >>
Scroll down to DEFAULT CALL-IN Country or Region.
Check that it doesn’t say Australia and change it to United States (or whichever country you’re making Zoom calls in).

As per current reports they have improved security of their app then before. So, I think currently it is more secure then before. But if you are very much concerned about the security of your discussions then you can user alternative of zoom as well.
