10 Software Categories in High Demand to Support Remote Work
Throughout my time at G2, traffic patterns on G2.com category pages have been one of the most significant data points to monitor. Time and again, the changes in those patterns have proven a good indicator of emerging trends and a strong reflection of change in software markets. The current global crisis caused by COVID-19 is, unsurprisingly, creating a large shift to tools that support remote work.

How to Stay Organized When Closing Books Remotely
Almost any public or private business with an accounting and finance department performs a month, quarter, and year-end close, which is a series of steps to review, record, and reconcile accounting information.
For this blog, I’m going to refer to only month-end close for consistency and simplicity.

Question on: EV Reach
DNS Issues
It seems Goverlan sometimes shows Computers and Even users not available even though they logged in and their system is on. Usually a reboot will show it back online, but sometimes that does not work. Goverlan Server services are running and good so unsure what issue is.

The Goverlan desktop management console relies upon the name resolution of the workstation you're using it from. If the local DNS cache is not up to date, you won't see the active workstation. Does the user login register properly with the Reach Server? You do have the Goverlan server defined in your DNS, correct?

Question on: LogMeIn Rescue
What version of Mac OS is preferred for remote connections?
Users on Mojave often saw the connection attempt either time out of reattempt infinitely. Additionally, they often saw a message that the app was not optimized for their system

LogMeIn just came out with the new beta version to run on Catalina. I usually wait for the final but tested the beta and have not found any issues with it. I usually am running LogMeInRescue from a PC remoting into a mac. I currently can not perform a remote session into a mac running Catalina.

Question on: Zoho Assist
The lag time to connect is REALLY slow. Anything I can do to improve that?
Cindy, what you call "lag time" to connect to as Zoho Assist is something that I also experience daily while managing 100+ computers IT infrastructure and I had a discussion with Zoho R&D team and this is not something you can improve by changing your settings. Let's speak honestly; Zoho Assist have some slight performance issues, but I am still 100% pleased with this product because of it extremely low price if you compare with other business solutions such as Team Viewer, GoToAssist, etc. I can definitely live with some lower performance if the cost remains lower by 75% like it is. Have a great day!

Hi Cindy,
I'm with Simon on that, some times it can be laggy, but I get that with TV and Goto as well, also n-able.
Setting adjustment can help, when really bad.
Hope that helps some what.

"I'd assume the "lag" is due to server capacity and location neither of which are under the end user's control." related Zoho Assist

The only lag I've ever gotten is the lag it takes to connect to the remote machine. But once connected, I've never experienced a lag. Perhaps look into speeding up your connection?

@Lisa Thompson, I am on a full Gigabit (duplex) fiber line at both work and home and it doesn't improve the connection delay, it have nothing to do with internet speed. It's more a matter on how Zoho Assist are designed and first of all, the remote computer owner have a slight delay (like 5 seconds) to cancel/block the incoming connection. So just this slight rejection delay is also part of the overall connection delay.

I have had similar experiences with Lisa T.
It might take a few seconds to connect but once connected, there are no issues and everything works properly.
I am using Bell Fibe Gigabyte internet speed with multiple users on the internet and everything seems to work great!
