Conversational Support Software Discussions
I’ve been researching conversational support tools for resolving support issues via chat. What are people relying on when it comes to solving problems, not just responding quickly?
I’m less interested in flashy chat widgets and more in tools that help agents troubleshoot, access info fast, and close issues in one conversation.
Some I’ve been looking into:
Zendesk: seems strong on workflows + knowledge base integration
Intercom: good UI, but not sure how deep it goes for resolution)
Freshdesk: balance between chat + ticketing?
Helpspot: simple, but maybe efficient for real support?
LiveAgent: heard it’s packed with features for handling tickets + chat
Do these actually help reduce back-and-forth, or do conversations still end up turning into tickets anyway?
Curious what holds up when things get more messy (bugs, edge cases, etc.)
I’m exploring conversational tools that can trigger messages based on user behavior (like time on page, repeat visits, drop-offs, etc.), but still feel natural and not spammy.
A few I’ve come across:
Intercom: seems really strong for behavior-based messaging
Drift: good for proactive sales, not sure about support use cases
Freshchat: has triggers + campaigns, curious how well they work
Tidio: simple automation flows, maybe good for quick setups
For those using these toold do proactive messages actually improve engagement, or do users just ignore them?
Trying to find that balance between helpful and intrusive.
I’m trying to move away from generic, scripted replies and make support feel a bit more tailored (like using past interactions, behavior, etc.), but not sure which conversational tools really help with that vs just basic automation.
Some options I’ve been looking into:
Intercom: seems strong on user data + targeted messaging
Zendesk: with apps/plugins for personalization?
HubSpot Service Hub: good if you want CRM + support together
Crisp: heard it’s lightweight but still flexible
Drift: more sales-focused, but could work for support?
Do these actually make conversations feel more “human,” or is it still mostly templates behind the scenes?
Would love to hear what’s working (or not) in real setups
