"Fast, Auditable Agentic Control Testing in a Modern GRC UI"

What do you like best about Zania?

I used Zania hands-on during an evaluation exercise rather than a long production deployment, so that’s the perspective I’m writing from. What stood out most was the agentic control testing. Instead of having to write evidence-collection logic for each control, the agent surfaced the relevant evidence and returned a pass/fail result with reasoning I could actually review and audit, rather than a black-box verdict. For the controls I ran it through, it was accurate, and it compressed work that would normally take an analyst hours down to a few minutes. The UI also feels genuinely modern for a GRC tool: the workflow is clean, and I was able to get through my first run without needing to touch the documentation. What do you dislike about Zania?

My exposure was limited to a hands-on evaluation for a case study, not a sustained deployment, so I can’t speak to how it holds up over months of real audit cycles. That’s the honest limitation of this review. Within that window, my main open question was auditability at scale. The agent’s reasoning was legible for the controls I ran, but I didn’t get to see what happens when a reviewer has to triage a large batch of agent-produced results and decide which ones to spot-check. What problems is Zania solving and how is that benefiting you?

Zania focuses on the manual evidence-collection layer of compliance work - the part where someone has to track down the artifact for each control, review it, and decide whether it meets the requirement. In my evaluation, the agent took on that retrieval-and-judgment step and returned an output with visible reasoning, which shifts a reviewer’s role from doing the work to validating it. The upside of that approach is pretty direct: expensive human attention moves from collection to verification, and the audit cycle can become shorter. To be clear, I observed this in a hands-on evaluation rather than during a live audit, so I’m describing the value I saw in that exercise, not a measured outcome across an entire compliance program.
