"Replaced Vidyard with Wistia and Never Looking Back — Makes Video, Podcasts, and Analytics Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about Wistia?

I love Wistia! It’s so much easier than our previous Vidyard solution, and it makes uploading, editing, and recording videos really straightforward. I also love how flexible the channels are—I can create different channels for different uses.

For example, we have a channel for Malbek Studios that lives on our website and keeps everything organized by content type. Each of those also has LLM-friendly embeds that we can place on product pages. I also like that I can use a channel to create a one-off environment just for analysts or other customers.

We also use it for podcasts, and the recorder is great—it does exactly what we need it to do. We have the ability to do webinars as well. I have not explored much into the webinar features yet, but I definitely plan to in the new year. We’ve moved off of Zoom to take advantage of that. Also, and you think about analytics you get really in depth analytics and heat mapping. I also really like that if you add UTMs to videos, you can track performance also integrate with HubSpot directly in terms of forms and things like that. Overall awesome and good value for the price. What do you dislike about Wistia?

There’s not much to dislike overall. There are definitely a few small things—some minor bugs and a couple of rough areas, especially around new features. It seems like new features get launched without clearly communicating what’s new.

One issue I ran into was with the Mac desktop app while recording. We had done a one-time recording and tested it beforehand, and everything worked fine. But on the actual day (when that one-time recording really needed to be captured) it seemed like some new features were rolled out (or something changed), and part of the recording got lost. Support supposedly escalated but the only resolution was to record again which couldn’t be done. The audio was all there, but the video was recording right until about 30 mins in and then automatically switched to an 16:9 format halfway through so the majority of the screen share wasn’t even visible. Would have liked more of a response or some kind of recovery but that’s been one of the only real problems I’ve had. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
