I like that it is easy to use WAVE. I can take a look at my business bank accounts in one place. It's nice to have the option to send invoices outside of my CRM. Y

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

There isn't anything that I dislike at the moment.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do all of my accounting within one place if I choose to do so. I am considering using wave to file my taxes this year.

Easiest app to duplicate an invoice and charge the customer's card I've used

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating invoices for marketing services

 ### 4. Top bookeeping and tracking for small businesses

There isn't really anything I've found so far. Great for keeping receipt copies and generating reports.

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Bank integration works seamlessly. Super easy to tag transactions and close accounting and conciliation of accounts.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Did not extract the full value of Wave yet. Thinking of using payroll, but there is no easy transition from Gusto

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tagging data for accountant to easily close books

 ### 7. Super easy and affordable option for small businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It's free and super easy to use. Gives a small business all the options that you need to get started. Keep track of revenue, and expenses and accept credit card payments all-in-one.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The mobile apps were geared towards receipts and invoices only. Not just tracking expenses or income not related to a Wave invoice. That was my only issue with Wave. My business is mobile so mobile apps are important.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed accounting software that wasn't going to break the bank but yet give me the benefits of larger accounting software. My business model is recurring monthly revenue, so auth-charge cards saved on file were a huge benefit.

 ### 8. Good experience with Wave

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher W. | Director of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Good low cost option to keep your books and records. Invoicing and accepting payments goes smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

No real dislikes, we just outgrew it as a company.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wave provided us with a low cost option to keep our relatively simple books for two subsidiaries.

 ### 9. Horrible Customer Service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

The UI seems intuitive. I have to hit the minimum character count, so I am simply typing these words aimlessly. There is literally nothing else I like about this software.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Keep in mind, that the genesis of my issues with Wave has come from within my organization, but we are not wholly at fault for the matter.

Wave's customer service team is nonexistent, and with something as significant as payroll, you want to know that--if there's an issue--you'll have quick access to helping hands. However, you will not find that with Wave. Though the UI is good-looking, Wave doesn't store much useful data for you to access within it. Furthermore, when you want to get, help you'll be limited to speaking with someone via chat. When you have an ongoing issue, it will be someone new every time, so you will be explaining and re-explaining yourself time after time after time. They will make promises to follow up with you via email, but those emails will never come, or they will not address your problem thereby confirming your suspicions that when you were chatting with them they didn't take the time to understand your issue completely. Truly the most difficult organization I have ever experienced. For a brief moment, I connected with a truly kind and attentive customer service rep who followed up with me via email, but after a few email exchanges, he was gone. Never to be heard from again. Again, the needs of my organization are complex, and I inherited a mess to sift through. Maybe if your org is well organized and accurate payroll and tax remittance are high priorities. If it's not, though, then please do not choose Wave. If you have complex needs or don't have an absolute expert in payroll already in-house, then Wave will not be your best bet. Also, what's up with only remitting to, like, 14 states? That'll give you a HUGE headache as you'll have to pay states directly yourself. Not cool. Beware.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think I've been thorough enough in my previous comments. However, I'll share that I've been working through the problem of accurately remitting state taxes to the various states where my distributed employees work. No benefits have been realized at this time.

 ### 10. Fantastic Free Business Accounting Option with Payroll, Invoices and Online Payments!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh C. | Co-Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It's free to use and do all your accounting. It is easy to get your reports to do taxes or just look at your P & L's. It works great and is quite easy. You can do payroll with it but you do have to pay for that, so if you are a tiny business it works great as you don't need payroll. You can also take online ACH and Credit Card payments. There are fees per payment but they are decently reasonable and they just send the payment to your bank account minus the fee.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The only thing I really don't like is the recurring invoices. It does not name them correctly so instead of going Maintenance Contract Billing 1 then 2 then 3 it gives random names from last invoices you made that don't even have to do with the customer. So I have to rename them and send them instead of having Wave do it automatically.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can really do all of my accounting for my small web design business all in one place I don't need separate programs and it is free.

 ### 11. Robust but uncomplicated

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc W. | E, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave has features that were lacking in other comparable programs. I use the invoice function quite a bit as I bill clients for hourly work. It automatically numbers invoices sequentially, keeps track of paid and unpaid invoices and has an easy set up to accept credit cards and bank payments, a feature lacking in many other basic business programs. It keeps track of income and expenses and will integrate with its accounting function, which I use sparingly because my needs are not great in this regard. I particularly like the fact that it will create receipts to send when payments are received. Invoices and receipts are very polished and professional looking.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The only suggestions I have for Wave is that it should keep track of client emails across functions so I don't have to manually enter it when sending receipts.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a one person small operation just starting out and Wave makes me seem like a seasoned, serious business. It set up credit card payments easily and with reasonable rates. I can get by with the very robust free version, but hope to expand enough to use the paid version, which is quite reasonable.

 ### 12. Great accounting QuickBooks alternative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amr A. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave is easy to use, and works very much like QuickBooks. A minimal learning curve also has a mobile app. It also allows you to send recurring invoices with several reminders

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Not sure I have found what I dislike about it yet

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

A great cost-effective solution if you are looking for a QuickBooks alternative

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Syncing my bank account and helping me do my bookkeeping every month easily and time effectively.

 ### 13. Wave Accounting Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn G. | Contributing Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

That it's free! And honestly, it has been absolutely perfect for my small business. I've been using it for about 10 years now and the software continues to improve all the time.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Sometimes the improvements come along pretty slowly, and I've had some minor issues disconnecting old businesses that are no longer in existence, but it really hasn't caused any issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

Sure, you'll potentially get a little more functionality with a paid software service, but for free Wave checks a lot of boxes and does awesome work.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem may not be the right word - Wave handles all my accounting and invoicing needs. More recently they've moved into banking which has also made my life easier as well.

 ### 14. Good tool for every entrepreneur

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It makes accounting and invoicing very easy to do. I am able to prepare accounts with minimum accounting entries

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

It has restricted usage in other countries that even needed this tool the most.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wave helps me to prepare accounts easily and prepare estimates and even invoices

 ### 15. Simple & Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny F. | Owner/Music Industry & Marketing Consultant, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

How easy WAVE is to use when sending my clients invoices. I love that it gives you the option to select when you want it to send out reminders if an invoice hasn't been paid. The reporting options are also beneficial, especially when it comes to tax season and wrapping up the fiscal year. WAVE makes everything easier.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The only frustration I have with WAVE is when it comes to uploading and tracking receipts. Each receipt has to be uploaded manually, which can be monotonizing. It would also be nice if WAVE automatically applied any late fees we have once an invoice becomes overdue. Save us from having to add in the late fees automatically

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WAVE helped me get our invoicing organized. Before I continually forgot to send out an invoice and never sent out reminders. Plus, when it came to tracking invoices, doing everything by hand with just excel was a tedious task. With WAVE, it's simple to send out, track and record payments.

 ### 16. Best Small Biz Accounting System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karrie B. | Fractional COO | Burnout Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I love how easy Wave is to use, how I can track all expenses, and run reports whenever I need them. Super easy to send invoices, get online payment and now even add payment links to websites.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

A recent update makes uploading receipts a bit harder, but still easy to do. I just Iiked how you could upload them and the AI prefilled much of the info. Now it feels like a 3 step process.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

I have been using Wave for 4 years and love it. It is easy to use. I have given view access to our CPA and they have been very happy with the platform and reports that can be run. It helps keep us very organized and professional and we can run reports as we needed.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for our accounting system, sending invoicing and recently they even added the ability to do banking with them. Makes it easy to have everything all on one platform.

 ### 17. The Only Way My Business Runs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I love that Wave is free to use & easy to use. The fact that I can set up recurring invoices for my customers and manually send them is a major plus! I also really appreciate that Wave has an app that I can use so that I don't have to be connected to my computer constantly. We have not yet started to use their payment system, but it is something that we are considering.mpant. We will most likely begin to use their online payment system at the beginning of the new year.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The downside to Wave might be that I cannot set custom reminders. I have to use the pre-set times they have programmed into the system. Payments at our company are not late until the 10th of the month & I would like the option to set up reminders just then. However, this is a minor issue to get over when you consider how great Wave is! I can overlook this minor issue just to use Wave at my company.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

What are you waiting for? There is no reason that you shouldn't be using Wave! Trash Quickbooks & start using Wave NOW! Seriously though - take a second and look at Wave. It meets all of our requirements without busting our budget wide open!

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the money that I save using Wave. Accounting software can be extremely expensive and usually requires some sort of download that you then have to spend hours customizing and integrating into your other software. Wave is nothing like that! Using Wave, I can apply that money to other things in our office that help with productivity. The most significant benefit is that I can successfully invoice customers without wasting the time of creating the invoices. In less than an hour, I I am able to create all of our invoices and send them out for the entire month!

 ### 18. Wave is the Best Accounting Software for Bootstraping Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor F. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave App has given our small business the accounting power of a large company. It is simple, easy to navigate, and we don't find it limiting. Great for showing the tax man what he wants to see.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

At one point, our debits were showing up as credits, and our credits were showing up as debits. This was solved later and might have been an issue with our bank. The customer service is non-existent on the free version so, if you have any issues, you are out of luck.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having scraped out a living with our first year of business during the global pandemic, we didn't have the means to pay an accountant and bookkeeper. We needed a free solution that we could scale up at a later date as we need more features.

 ### 19. Amazing (free) accounting software for solo member businesses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It's free, completely functional for accounting software, straightforward to learn, and can grow with you as your business grows. Once you start using the paid features, you'll find that it's very competitive pricing compared to alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

They've made some changes to their design layout and user interface that made some accounting tasks take more clicks. However, they've made some adjustments to improve that and seem to be constantly working on their product.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

If Wave isn't set up for automatic tax withholdings/payments in your state, you might consider using Quickbooks or Gusto instead.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting, payroll, employee management all in one platform. I don't use the payment/invoicing system due to the unique needs of my industry but for most businesses, that feature would work seamlessly as well. Generating W-2 and tax forms at the end of the year is a breeze, and automatically calculating your employment taxes for you is very helpful.

 ### 20. Great Accounting Software for SMBs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave is a great low-cost alternative to more expensive software packages like Quickbooks, with the same functionality. Add ons make it a robust package without breaking the bank. It allows me to do most of the things I need without needing to be in front of a computer (it is mobile-friendly) and pass off the quarterly and payroll items to my accountant without losing control.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

It took a while for my accountant to figure out how to best work with Wave - he was so used to Quickbooks. I dislike that they remove a dedicated app for reciept management.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

Don't try to migrate to or from Wave. It is best for new organizations. Data portability is not an issue, but it is not easy to bring over people who are used to a different accounting software package without a lot of complaining about learning something new.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basic accounting needs for my SMB without spending unnecessary monthly fees. Huge time-savings with Wave and a more intuitive interface than Quickbooks.

 ### 21. Very easy to use and straigh forward Accounting software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre A. | Head of Management Information Systems Unit, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Straightforward and clear accounting software has many valuable features continuously updated with new options. excellent free options that can cover the needs of most people

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The website sometimes freezes when the connection is not very stable; you have to repeat the action more than once for it to go through. Not a lot of integration features are available.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

Very good solution if your looking for a very easy to use accounting system

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wave is helping streamline personal and some of my online business accounting and billing needs, with sales, forecasting, cash flow management, customer management.

 ### 22. An affordable option, but you get what you pay for. Overall poor customer support experience.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kai "Kevin" C. | Founder and CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It's one of the more affordable options out there, and if you use it out of the box, there is not a lot of complexity to it.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The customer support experience is really poor. They don't always respond to your emails even though they promise a 2-business day response time. Customer support chat is the only other option, but it can be a long wait and the agents like to disconnect you if you don't respond or they have a whiff of you being away from the keyboard for a minute. There is no call support option.

If your company needs to do anything custom like adjust statutory holidays (e.g. following provincial instead of federal stat holidays), then you're out of luck and will need to make many complex manual adjustments. The documentation around this is lacking.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just having payroll for the company.

 ### 23. Unbeatable features and service for the price - which is free!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve T. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

The fact that it does everything Quickbooks does (and more) and is FREE. I've used Quickbooks for 15 years, and I started having a lot of issues with the software and their customer service. I tried Wave out a couple of years ago but ended up going back to QB for their mobile app. However, QB started taking features away from the app, so I saw no reason to keep paying so much money for something when Wave does it all for free. And when it comes to the payment processing fees, those are very competitive and better than QB, too. Overall I'm saving hundreds of dollars per month between all of my companies using Wave, and yet I'm not missing any features at all; in fact, I've gained features such as easily switching between companies in the same window without signing out and back in. Their customer service has always been great as well. Just overall, a much, much better experience, and I am very happy I made the switch to Wave.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The lack of a fully functioning mobile app. I don't do that much on mobile anyway, and what I do need mobile for they do have good apps for that, such as checking invoices. But it would be great to have a fully functioning app though I'm sure that's coming. The other thing is categorizing transactions is a little weird sometimes. For example, categorizing transfers took some getting used to, but that really isn't a big deal. Overall, I can't think of anything I truly dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

Try it out; it's free! I'd say give it some time at first because, like with any new software, you have to learn how they do things. But it really is a great software.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting for multiple companies, sending invoices, receiving payments online, and automatic recurring payments. Also pulling reports and categorizing transactions automatically from my bank.

 ### 24. Great Software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabrielle M. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Simple to use; invoicing, reports and recording all in one place

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Some things were a little tricky to understand so maybe a detailed tutorial would have been helpful

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

Great for US and Canadian businesses

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Definitely solving a time issue where record keeping is concerned and it helped me send out my invoices on time

 ### 25. ‘Just Right’ Accounting Basics for Small Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Online/cloud-based accounting - Use it anywhere! Pricing is unbeatable, really, and features are added almost monthly.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Need more forms print tools, such as packing slips/pick lists, inventory management sheets, and CRM reports.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

When operating a small business, it is crucial to monitor your monthly cash flow and expenses diligently. This product offers essential features at a minimal cost, which would typically cost $50-$100 per month with other products.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves my challenge of needing basic small business accounting without spending a lot of money on monthly fees.

 ### 26. Free accounting tool to manage your intial level invoicing and banking

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Puran S. | Co-Founder & COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I was using excel to create invoices and it was getting difficult for me to manage over excel hence start searching for a free invoicing tool and found Wave Accounting. I set it up in less than an hour and started creating invoices, it was very easy to set up and work on it.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I used it for a couple of months and then got an email from their team that they are going to stop their operations in some of the countries like India and Japan so I needed to move to Zoho Books.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

I can't say much as they are not providing their services out of America and Canada, I think.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was mainly using it for creating and customizing invoices. It was quite very easy to create an invoice on the Wave Accounting tool.

 ### 27. Best Accounting and invoice manager for small businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It's easy to generate estimates for your clients and easily convert these estimates into invoice. The best part is, the software does all accounting entries for you. I am able to track my outstanding invoices.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Wave is a great app I must say. Ever since I started using Wave, I have not experienced any difficulties or challenges. The app is seamless and I love the mobile (android app) version. One dislike, however, is that the mobile app doesn't allow users to create estimates. It only allows us to create invoices.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small business owner, the main challenge I have is monitoring my finances and my books. With the Wave App, I can do this with less effort and without spending a lot of money on accounting services.

 ### 28. Open to cash flow faucet

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tisha H. | Storyteller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

One of my favorite income-producing activities with Wave is turning on the recurring invoice feature for clients who opt for booking my media and creative business growth services by annual retainer. In one task, Wave takes care of the payment processing long-term. Yay!

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I do wish that I could fully utilize the payroll feature on Wave; however, Michigan is a self-service state at this time.

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

My recommendation is to use as many of the Wave features as you possibly can, as early on as possible. Maximizing automation buys back time for you to do more of what you love.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wave helps me reconcile bank transactions, prepares and distributes my company invoices, and sends reminders and receipts when paid in full. I appreciate how many different payment options that my clients have through Wave.

 ### 29. Great accounting tool outside of UK

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason C. | Creative Imagineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Easy to use platform and quick learning curve to pick up the basics

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Sadly back in 2020 Wave stopped supporting live bank feeds in the UK which forced me to move to a new provider

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

A great accounting and billing system for businesses outside of the UK

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a perfect fit for my freelance business and I was sad to have to leave them but businesses outside of the UK will have a great experience with WAVE

 ### 30. Best Free Accounting Out There

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I like that firstly, it's free for everything I need to do. I also like the receipts app, but they recently discontinued this feature, so you have to direct upload to the site. I would say this is the best accounting software for a service-based business.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

There can sometimes be double entry problems, but it seems that they are fixing this glitch to be a little bit more intuitive to find matching duplicate transactions. It used to take a lot more of my time when reconciling. It also has limited functionality when it comes to having a physical inventory-based system. They are just now trying to integrate with Stripe for online payments, but their ability to work through sales tax, nexus, and the like is VERY limited right now.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sending invoices and bookkeeping. I love the fact that they have downloadable reports by client and that you can pull your financials from previous years in pdf documents quickly. This has saved me a lot of time.

 ### 31. Great accounting software for small businesses and freelancers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit K. | Director, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

1 - Hundred of app integrations
2 - Easy to collaborate with another person (CA or Accountant), Very easy to share information with them.
3 - Easy to find wave experts and online resorourse.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

1 - The mobile app is not user-friendly.
2 - Customer support improved a lot, but still lacking.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1 - Easy to share information with the accountant.
2 - Recurring invoices can be set, which saves a lot of time.
3 - Payment reminders can be set.

 ### 32. Invoicing Made Easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt H. | Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I love how easy it is to set up and run invoicing for small businesses. I can customize my invoices to reflect my brand and meet my needs for recurring invoices and one-off invoices.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The only improvement I might suggest at the moment would be to make scheduling when invoices are sent a little more flexible. For example, I would like to avoid sending invoices on weekends or holidays, but can only set it for the 1st Tuesday, a specific day, etc.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have the majority of my clients set up with recurring invoices, so I don't need to worry about sending out invoices each month.

 ### 33. Feature Rich, Easy to use, Continuously Improved Connections

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris W. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave is great for the solo-prenuer! It's completely free to use and has many features that help you keep all your accounts and records straight. You are still limited to what reports are premade, but with only this information you can make whatever report you would need to run your business. They are continuously adding features and integrations, including a paid for tax service.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I wish the platform allowed for a straightforward way to download your raw data. However, this is not a fatal flaw, and if they provided this feature, likely they would charge for it.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking for free bookkeeping software since I am just starting my business and am not sure that it will completely pan out. This software helps me to sync all my credit card and bank statement data seamlessly. It is of great value.

 ### 34. Invoicing and Accounting for novice with wave

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SHAUNTA A. M. | NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent/Remote Online Notary, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave is a user-friendly accounting software that is easy to use. It allows a novice such as someone that is self-employed to do their own billing and invoicing

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

There is nothing to dislike about wave it is what it is. A simple accounting software that is easy to use for those that are not accountants, It is not made for complex accounting

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

none

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Invoicing and billing problems are solved with Wave by using the app. The mobile app is a great tool to use. The benefits have you realized with wave are the ability to invoice on the go.

 ### 35. Good produce if you have a tight budget

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate K. | President and Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I like the versatility of Wave for being a free product. It does all the things I need and things I didn't know I needed. It's much easier to use than QuickBooks.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I wish it had a built in budget instead of the provided spreadsheet. It's nice to have everything in one place and would rather not have to switch between a spreadsheet and the program.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I hate QuickBooks and needed something intuitive and easy to use. Wave met that need and I find if I don't understand something the help articles are a great resource.

 ### 36. I love this Invoicing Tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

When I started using Wave it was entirely free for people outside of the US/Canada. It made my start into entrepreneurship easier. I was able to keep track of all invoices and payments, and the reporting feature offered great insight. It supports both mobile and web usage so thats a plus.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I don't particularly appreciate that it has stopped being free for persons outside of the US and Canada. Now I will have to consider using a different invoicing tool.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes business and accounting easier to track and manage, especially for small entrepreneurs just starting. It is simple and easy to use, making the challenging task of accounting look simplified.

 ### 37. Easy to use and track

Need to have an International version

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Daily/Monthly Finance and Accounting
Create invoices, manage expenses
Generate reports
Track and monitor our Finances on monthly basis
Productivity has improved

 ### 38. If you are just starting a business on a budget. Don’t think about it. Use Wave

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto O. | Founder/President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It is extremely simple to use and follow. You can do almost everything QuickBooks and/or Xero can do for free. The only charge comes in if you decide to process payments with them. Which I highly recommend too because it gives your business a very professional and modern payment method for clients.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The reporting is somewhat basic and difficult to get granular and detailed. Yet it provides everything needed to get proper accounting and reporting.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves all our accounting, AR, and AP needs. We no longer use it for accounting purposes and have outgrown it for QuickBooks but we still run Payroll services through Wave at a very budget friendly rate.

 ### 39. Wave accounting review.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I like the mobile aspect of scanning receipts and inputting data on the fly. It can gather all my accounts and display everything on one single interface. Very easy to use. This app makes my books and life a lot easier to manage.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Some of my accounts(companies) could not load. But that's because my bank didn't allow this service. I want more videos to explain in detail how to integrate and semi-automate my accounting.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are that I can create invoices and bill customers from this app. Super easy. I have another app that I use to project manage my events, but I have not found a way to integrate both simultaneously.

 ### 40. Gets the job done, doesn't play well at scale

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It's low cost and provides an essential tool kit for small businesses online, but it falls short when you're scaling your business up. Trying to do anything more complex than their workflows will be difficult.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I don't think the ecosystem is built for growing your company; if you don't have more than a few employees, then it's perfect if you plan on hiring contracts or doing business in multiple currencies, it becomes challenging.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Wave to jumpstart our accounting process; it let us get set up quickly, and invoicing was a breeze. They charge for payments which is expected, but the free invoicing is worthwhile to get your business up and running.

 ### 41. Great for a solopreneur

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I like being able to generate estimates, create invoices and collect payment. Wave is easy to set up, assists with accounting, and I can track outstanding invoices all in one place.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

It is very disappointing that they have withdrawn their services from Europe and other countries outside the US and Canada.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Wave for creating invoices and sending those invoices to clients.

 ### 42. No More Wave for me

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave used to be the best free platform. I used it for many years.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

They stopped the auto scan receipt function which was critical to my business

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not anymore, due to the lack of receipt scanning it sucks now

 ### 43. Good for payroll and send invoices

**Reviewed by:** Caroll S. | Director of Customer Success, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2017

Very easy used, and the employee can access to their pay stubs at any time. Also sending invoices, sending reminders and tracking payments it's easy.

Nothing... it's very convenient and Easy to used

**Recommendations to others considering Wave:**

Set recurrent invoices to avoid manual work, and also set the reminders.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Every employee can access to their payroll without problems

 ### 44. Changes this year make it cumbersome

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teri M. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

It is free and intuitive to use, but not as robust as needed on a growing business

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Problems loading receipts, double bookings when receipts are loaded. The changes this year are difficult. Payroll module is mostly do it yourself

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Downloading books for sole proprietorships, which forces some discipline

 ### 45. The best accouting software+ specially for creating invoices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sairam G. | Executive-Strategic Solutions-Hybris & MarketPlace, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I very much like the ease of access and agile nature of this software in creating the invoices and running the payroll, edit if needed, and download within no time. It has all the currency listed on it.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

I wouldn't say I dislike it, but the reporting structure could be better and detail.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem solver with Wave is it just simplifies the efforts of the user, and the pricing is also very reasonable.

 ### 46. Awesome software and its free!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave does an incredible job of providing free software that small businesses can use to manage their finances.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The lack of support can be a bit frustrating. This is always something you can expect with free software, however, it would be nice to at least offer proper support for a monthly fee.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use wave for all our billing and invoicing.

 ### 47. Wave for the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Wave is a wonderful online app that allows me to create and send invoices to clients, take payments, track expenses, and manage my business in an easy-to-use format.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

It isn't easy to reach a real person on customer support; paid invoices take far too long to process, and the funds to reach my bank account.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The "all-in-one format" makes it much easier to keep up with the financial management of a small company. Keeping track of client payments is much eaier now.

 ### 48. Great accounting product for small business owners.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony Z. | Attorney, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Quicken and similar software always seemed one step above what a small business owner was capable of using. Thie software fixes that by making accounting easy and accessible.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Manually submission is sometimes tedious, there could be easier ways for common transactions.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me keep on track of my income and expenses.

 ### 49. Wave - Good Accounting App Solution for Some Businesses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sibylle P. | Full Charge Bookkeeper, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Wave?**

I'll start by explaining that I'm a professional bookkeeper who learned Wave in order to serve a couple of new clients who were already using it. Since then, I've recommended it a couple of times to people who needed a step beyond Excel for accounting at the lowest possible cost. Wave's basic version is free, and what you get for $0.00 is a lot. The bank feeds are robust. Reconciliations are set up as I prefer, "hard coded." The basic reports are all available in summary and detail formats (income statement, balance sheet, and general ledger). Splitting transactions is easy. All this makes it a great solution for small businesses that don't have overly complex accounting requirements.

Wave also supports set-up of customer invoices and statements and vendor bills, and receipt uploads. Receiving payments through Wave does incur transaction fees. And they have a paid payroll add-on.

My top favorite feature though is the way in which Wave has set up transaction search and edit functions. Wave's approach to mass transaction editing makes it very quick and easy to do bookkeeping catch-ups when needed as compared to any of the other accounting apps I've used.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

The reconciliation process is a bit odd in terms of workflow order. I'd prefer to match transactions to the bank statement before I get a "reconciled" message.

I've also not been able to figure out yet how to set up payroll liability accounts in Wave for manual payroll transaction entry. Latest idea that just occurred to me is to try creating a "Discounts" income account that makes it possible to track the money that comes in and out of payroll liability accounts. Doing it this way, of course, could add a bit of complexity to reading the income statement.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've used Wave for a client who needed to maintain personal bookkeeping records with more ease than she had been doing. Wave also gives her the ability to easily "pull" all her charitable contributions, which helps with the tax filing.

 ### 50. simple and effective tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Wave?**

Very easy to use. It helped me quickly generate invoices.

**What do you dislike about Wave?**

Nothing as of now but will let you know in future if required.

**What problems is Wave solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using wave to generate invoices for my business.
