I really enjoy that Volunteers for Salesforce lets us easily track our volunteer activity and have it automatically added to their Contact record. The self-sign up portal has also been great, as volunteers can track their own activity and sign up for the shifts that fit into their schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really wish that it was more easily customizable. We have access to the code to change some things, but we've had to create a lot of workarounds to have the app function in the ways we need it to. For example, our organization tracks volunteer activity by shifts, rather than hours. There's not currently a way to change this in Volunteers for Salesforce, so we've had to set all of our shifts as one hour. It's led to confusion with our volunteers, as it still clearly lists hours on their sign up app. All of my dislikes are small things like this, but it would be great if we can take the reins a bit more.
