## UserTesting Reviews
  ### 1. Couldn't work without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The best feature by far is just being able to recruit my target audience within minutes. The time and effort it saves is invaluable.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wish it was easier to have face-to-face interviews online, and it would be great if there were suggested clips when playing back videos.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

It's the most efficient way to get feedback from current and potential audiences.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm mostly using it for needs assessment and usability testing on prototypes. I have been able to justify or not justify projects and be able to make smart design decisions knowing it's what my audience needs.

  ### 2. UserTesting.com is Making Usability Testing Quick and Accessible!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I absolutely love the UserTesting panel. The turn-around for testing is so quick when you carefully screen the UserTestiung panel, and I can get answers in less than a day in some cases! I also love that it integrates with Optimal Workshop in order to get us access to card sorts and tree testing!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I dislike how touchy the video editing software is.. it's difficult to get an exact quote. It also would be great to be able to copy a test between MyRecruit (your own customers) and their panel. Right now you need to rebuild the test from scratch if you change audiences.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

The upfront cost is considerable, but if you can afford it the rewards are great. This tool allows you to reach out to potentially millions of users that you can screen to fit your target and record behavior and feedback, instant video clips... it's really a great way to fit UX research into your business, especially if you have varied / unusual customer demographics or you have no usability lab. At least do a trial and see if it's for you.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving usability issues, navigation issues, design challenges, and getting user feedback in a qualitative format. We've gotten large improvements in user comprehension by using UserTesting.com to test with users. It's a great iterative testing tool with a potentially fast turnaround time.

  ### 3. User testing is great for understanding real user issues

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The quick turnaround in getting users testing- from testing something quick to a more in depth test it allows for quick testing on key things. It also offers a variety of options for testing.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Dashboard is sometimes limited but otherwise no complaints!

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Go for it! and ensure you also buy the Live Conversation product as it is a great asset- sometimes it is difficult to get everything you need from complex testing by unmoderated testing alone. Moderated is a great option

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using real user feedback to understand the best approaches to our web and mobile platforms. We are solving both large and small issues as they come up and as we're designing. We have had countless benefits as we are able to test almost all our interface decisions and content.

  ### 4. Quick feedback and product iteration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

We are able to have truely agile product development with User Testing because of their quick filling and creation of tests. The templates are great places to start any sort of test, and we are able to iterate on our product ideas incredibly quickly.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Restarting tests can sometimes be really cumbersome.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving a lot of problems with trying to iterate quickly on prototypes to get to a solution quickly that has been validated. This kind of testing usually would take us weeks. We've now figured out how to run 3 4 or 5 rounds of feedback with people over just a couple of days and get to some of the bigger issues with our ideas before it ever even goes into development. It saves a huge amount of time for us.

  ### 5. A useful product for any UX team or researcher

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Responsive support, a fairly good panel, being able to run a lot of tests to get good data

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

To make an app build for UserTesting requires extra developer work, which often results in bugs

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

It's not perfect, but it's the best solution we've found in the space. Compared to others, the support and continued innovation are impressive and worth the cost.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used UserTesting for usability research as well as messaging and branding work. We've been able to spot issues in the product that might otherwise have been hard to reason about.

  ### 6. The options for how to analyze the data are very helpful.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jackie W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

What I like is best is that this has a nice clean interface that provides options for different kinds of studies. I like that it prompts me for input so it pretty much creates the test for me.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Wish it had more kinds of testing (card sorting, tree jacking, hot spots)

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been testing how customers are using our software, what their desired workflows are, and what we need to change. We are working on this iteratively and it's great to use a consistent testing approach that can be saved and compared.

  ### 7. UserTesting feedback

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber D. | Banquet Server and Trainer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how quickly you can get results back and participants using both the moderated and unmoderated testing.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes making the video clips can be wonky and cut of too early or too late. I also strongly dislike that here is no return to the top button and I am required to scroll a lot through the pages.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reach a larger audience base of prospective students and parents of prospective students to test our products with a target population and not just using our current student base.

  ### 8. 1 year review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Being able to set up a test and view later.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Having to manually transfer tests to a new account and not being able to upload the metrics.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting insights to users.

  ### 9. Quick, efficient testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

How easy it is to set up a test, and how quick it is to find users. I save a lot of time not having to find users to conduct a test, and also by being able to duplicate and edit tests to iterate.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Not being able to pause or stop the test. Sometimes I realize an error in the script and have no choice but to let it run and ignore the test results. It seems like a waste of testers' time that could be avoided.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Set up a trial test and preview to make sure your test is set up correctly and makes sense for the user.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helped me get unbiased feedback on prototypes, perform A/B tests, and also conduct market research.

  ### 10. UserTesting has given our design team time and trust

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guendalina R. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting is a cost-effective and convenient tool for user testing. I can create a test plan and, in less than an hour, receive feedback from users. This gives me the information I need to design new products and test those that have already been shipped. Additionally, UserTesting has been useful for competitive research.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I think the analyzer screen for the questions can be a bit confusing, so it would be good to simplify that. I also think it would be good to be able to start testing from the first screen because most of the time you're just iterating the filters and don't have to go through the whole process.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

The evaluators are good, but I think some rush through tests to earn more money. The process to execute a test is difficult.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Personally, I use UserTest to test the mobile application from the idea stages to live product testing. We have realized that sometimes less is more, but also sometimes a little additional information is required.

  ### 11. UserTesting: User testing and experiential research made easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul G. | Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It surprises me to see how usertesting.com is able to find very specific user groups based on a set of screening questions. I have used it for several corporate and B2B websites with very unique users, and I was able to get results in a few hours or a day at the most.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Many participants seem to be "professional" testers; they provide excellent feedback but are a bit more savvy than your typical user. There are ways to get around this, you just need to filter them better or enable the fresh eyes option to avoid having the same people over and over again.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

UT is undoubtedly the best tool that exists. It is much better than the competition in almost every aspect. It is also becoming very good at moderate sessions and will surpass all competitions in this area due to the communication tool used (Zoom).

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We discover if the words and phrases we use are the same as those used by your audience. We mainly work on concepts and find that this gives us a good starting point.

  ### 12. A great platform for reaching out to eager users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Simple to set-up and run quick experiments on knowledgeable individuals; love the compiled results in spreadsheet output format, this helps my team spend their efforts on designing the next experiment instead of compiling and preparing the results

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes it seems like a user pool can be quite limited when specifying FreshEyes, it would be great if UT would recruit in those areas when it sees slow or limited qualification. The automatic transcripts are often of poor quality.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Recommend this as a great go to in checking the attractiveness, responsiveness and usability of mobile and web experiences across multiple computing platforms

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing mobile and web interfaces. So great to see and hear the user's experiences and be able to run through them in an accelerated speed immediately after completion

  ### 13. Usertesting is one of the most favorable portals to host a study on in these quarantine times!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pallavi m. | User Experience Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Instant access to the database of users...and the fact that all studies have a voice recording.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The survey capabilities can be improved a whole lot

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

It definitely adds value to your research, with the voice capture feature!

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick usability studies on digital features. Consumer insights on behavior patterns and lifestyles.

  ### 14. Great Idea and very useful tool for Product managers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I really like the idea of the market place, I think the fact that as a Product Manager you can access your actual users and define your testing terms base on different segments is amazing.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I think the platform do not have enough international testers. East Europe and US pretty good, but Kr, Ru, CN, JP, Au and Middle East very little number of users so if you are a global company you cannot get the most out of the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you are an international company you probably cannot benefit as much as US company.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User feedbacks for mvp before building the full featured products, UX/UI decisions for best customer experience, Stakeholder buy in for the new features and improvements.

  ### 15. Usertesting.com review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

- Fast responses from users
- Diverse demographics of participants
- Ability to make clips to share with teams
- Transcript and playback speed is useful as well for scrubbing through videos
- Support is usually fast
- Live conversations have been a great addition

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

- Fraudulent participants; people who lie through their screeners, this ends up wasting a lot of time especially for live conversations
- Inability to link directly to a certain point in recordings
- Tests could be better organized into folders

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Talking to users about their problems with our service
- Getting fast users input on something we're thinking about launching
- Getting specific user groups that we're trying to target into a call

  ### 16. User-friendly, efficient testing platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Really easy to set up user tests, with lots of helpful question types. Great template tasks as well, very handy when splitting testing with colleagues that have less experience with testing. Very quick turn around times, and good quality videos and feedback.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It would be great to have a more global community of testers, especially outside Europe and English-speaking countries. Navigation through the platform is a bit unfriendly. 5 seconds test not very well done as a feature

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Most comfortable from a financial perspective since you pay an annual bill and have unlimited tests. Very good value for money.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly used for classic user tests. Now started to run unmoderated interviews to get quick insights into how people manage with the pandemic.

  ### 17. UserTesting is an exceptional tool to collect high quality qualitative data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The ability to investigate the thought process that participant have while conducting a study has been invaluable. The ability to interview individuals in their own home is also a benefit, deceasing the prevalence of confounds in studies.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The only downside I have experienced is an incongruence of screener responses. Participants will pass UserTesting screeners to participate in the study, but then fail those same screeners in the survey itself.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

UserTesting is definitely worth a try if the collection of qualitative data is of importance to a company or individual.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to use UserTesting to create better user experiences, conduct in depth competitor analysis, collect myriad qualitative data, and to vet content before publishing to our wider audience.

  ### 18. Great way to find out about customer experience insights.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The capability to pick how many people test.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Difficult to ensure that the users are taking the time and effort to go through and completely test. Understanding how many users have technology issues and give up would be very helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Know what exactly you are trying to gain from the test.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding the ease of the website and how outside viewers would be able to navigate the website. We were able to reorganize and create new paths because of the feedback.

  ### 19. Easier to test with a wide variety of people

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grant S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting allows us to easily and quickly test with a wide variety of people. The test results and highlight videos can be easily shared. Insights come more quickly.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It is not cheap, but the insights end up saving money.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting has helped us to run more tests with more people earlier in the design and development cycle. This helps us to develop mobile and web solutions that are more likely to meet the needs of our users.

  ### 20. Fantastic for lightweight iterative testing of non-sensitive projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Rapid feedback, easy to iterate on projects and get directional feedback. Easy to use and rapidly improving. Extremely responsive customer support.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The licensing structure changes two years ago added significant barriers to usage.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Fantastic platform enabling rapid iterative testing; it's not without limitations but is a phenomenal tool for scaling up user research.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content refinement, design refinement, identify discoverability problems, attitudes, and comprehension of a multiplicity of projects. This platform has enabled me to quadruple user research efforts at my current company

  ### 21. UserTesting helps gather customer insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam G. | AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I have been using UserTesting for a variety of reasons but specifically to gather customer insights through usability studies. It provides an easy to use interface and often I have early results within minutes. I love the UserTesting recording feature which often helps me understand the user behavior, cognitive load and decision making for the end users.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I would like to see more role-based controls, advanced search and richer dashboard for analysis.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Usability studies - helps shaping product, feature or service design/improvement.

  ### 22. Excellent tool, excellent support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting is very easy to use. They have a wide pool of users to pull from, even with multiple screening questions. The support and community is amazing as well.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Navigating the list of studies is a bit challenging. It could be organized better than just a long list.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Definitely give UserTesting a try. It fits well into an iterative design cadence.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use UserTesting to test or initial ideas for new features. We use it to validate that we are headed in the right direction, and to gauge what is important to users.

  ### 23. Powerful and immediate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

How simple it is to set up a test, and how you can focus on getting value feedback rather than the admin of overseeing tests.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

My team and I would love it if comments were assigned to profiles so we can see who said what.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team can save a lot of time through UserTesting. It means that when features move to development, we are a lot more certain that we're barking up the right tree. It gives us access to people with specific requirements that would be taken weeks to find ourselves.

  ### 24. An excellent tool for quick, hassle free user testing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis Miguel B. | User Experience Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The way I can interact with live results allows me to filter data in different ways and analyze it very easily.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The recruiting panel pricing model is mostly appealing to mid and upper scaled companies. Individual folks like me cannot afford to pay $50 per response.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mostly do first click tests. It’s the best tool in the market for that. You won’t find any other tool as usable, fast and actionable as this one.

  ### 25. Get to know your user in minutes

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oriol B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

After designing a new feature I can validate it with my target in a matter of minutes.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Depending who your target is you can encounter difficulties to find it in the User Testing panel.
I would include other feature such us card sorting, heat map, etc...

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Is an expensive too but is worth it the time and the money.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Now I can maximise the impact of a feature quickly and with an accuracy I didn't have before.

  ### 26. A perfect platform to get tested of your app

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak S. | Technical Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

User testing is a tool that provide easy interface to configure your tests. It helps to connect with quality of testers. we have used for various projects and provide good solutions for us.

The platform provide very good solution for us.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometime users connects late. but i think it can handle by staying on platform for times

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Its a great platform and provide good results. you must give it a shot.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

to test our Mobile apps

  ### 27. UserTesting Review - UX Designer - 2020

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barbara S. | Project Manager, Senior UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like the broad demographic, I like the straightforward UI and the fact that it's so easy to combine various components.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I find collaborator's account slightly limited. I d love to have one account where the test structure could be shown as well (to get test structural feedback from my colleagues before running the test)

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solve usability problems and issues that cannot be mapped out without human feedback - eg user trust towards the brand

  ### 28. Quick and convenient feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bowie L. | Associate UX Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like the efficiency of UserTesting to get quality feedback and the note-taking feature, which makes it really easy to time stamp and pull quotes and flag key insights.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Not much. I think the only comment I have is I put effort into making sure the tests are intuitive so I put it descriptive text to make sure the participants know what to do. I preview the test on the app but I think they see something different because they use the browser extension? I'm not entirely sure.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, I use UserTesting for prototype and design testing, but I believe there's potential to use it in our organization to assist our other research methods.

  ### 29. Great Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Usertesting.com gives me access to unlimited tests and hundreds of thousands of users.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Usertesting comes with a hefty price tag. I wish that they allowed per/test pricing options.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Definitely shop around and be sure that you need to do a lot of testing to justify the pricing and the unlimited nature of the plan. If you have the funds, the need, and want results returned very rapidly (sometimes in less than an hour), this could be the right product for you.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We always finding ways to make our products better with the insights we gain from Usertesting.com. We always finding ways to make our products better with the insights we gain from Usertesting.com.

  ### 30. One of the best tools out there for user research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah H. | User Research Lead, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Quality of participants, ease of recruitment, highlight reel capabilities, ease of using metrics

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Editing videos isn’t the easiest, transcript (beta) needs more work in terms of accuracy, annual subscription cost

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If cost is a consideration for your company, consider how often you will need to test and compare the per-study cost with some of the alternatives in the market. Usertesting is great for being able to test as often as you want, but for instance a very small company might not have enough to test to justify the annual subscription plan. They do offer different tiers, but the startup plan is very limiting.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Evaluative research, being able to take time-sensitive research questions and turn around a study within a day or two

  ### 31. Necessary for understanding your user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

UserTesting has the largest user base in their panel, and they let you get really specific, so you can really narrow down to your target audience.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It's pretty expensive and their plans are not that flexible.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you're not already doing a form of user testing, you should be getting real user feedback.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting allows us to understand who are users are, what their pain points are, and pair qualitative insights with quantitative data.

  ### 32. User Testing makes getting insights a cinch!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel M. | UX Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like that I don't have to wait or mess with scheduling to get my results!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wish it were easier to let other people pilot/preview your tests.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you want really quick and QUALITY results, definitely look into UserTesting.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to conduct research super quickly, making lean research very possible. If there's a question, I can launch a study right away and get a lot of results.

  ### 33. User Testing and Experiential Research Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kane F. | Founding Partner, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

For starters, I love how easy the interface is to use. I also LOVE how fast support is to respond to issues. And the fact that there are so many people signed up in the UT panel is nice -- we already have fresh testers ready to help us, which makes scheduling our testing a dream.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Sometimes we have testers who are clearly there just to try to make a quick buck which is annoying, but thankfully UT is really great at letting us ban/block testers, rate testers, and replace testers in our test. So mostly just a minor concern. Also, the speech-to-text dictation needs some improvement.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are continuously testing and improving our online retail experiences. We've also used UT in conjunction with other tools a LOT, like Optimal Workshop.

  ### 34. Easy insights in minutes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hugo W. | Product Design Lead , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

You can literally get an idea of your design in minutes. Their big pool of registered testers makes the process quick and efficient.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The experience to create and set up a test can be painful sometimes, but after doing that a few times - you get used with the pain :(

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Validating UX/UI decisions.
It's a quick way to verify if your designs are going in the right direction.

  ### 35. It has been fantastic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how fast we can get direct feedback from users. It has allowed us all to rapidly iterate and improve our ux.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I wish that my payment tier allowed for us to target our actual users. I get it tho, the next payment tier allows it.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

The one thing that is frustrating is at the end of a video. You are asked to rate the video and it seems like you are summarizing the video but it’s actually reviewing the tester. Sometimes I accidentally send the participant the summary 😅

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have discovered and solved a bunch of UX issues that we never realized

  ### 36. Excellent at Moderated Usability Tests

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Having the scheduling built into the tool and being able to set a cap on the number of participants was incredibly helpful. For doing moderated remote testing UserTesting is great!

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The unmoderated functionality could be improved. In tools like UserZoom there is much more robust functionality when it comes to unmoderated and mixed testing methods like card sorts, tree tests, benchmarks, etc.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling, video editing, and running remote moderated usability tests. Video editor has much of the functionality needed and is easy to use. Would like observers to be able to comment in real time as they are watching the sessions. Scheduler works great.

  ### 37. Best in Industry for UX Testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Toby D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

It's nice to see a UX based platform take UX to heart and actually make their platform intuitive and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Not a whole lot that the team has voiced to me that they are unhappy with.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Like Nike said, Just Do It.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is used heavily by our UX team to test websites, apps, and various other things for our clients.

  ### 38. UserTesting makes testing easy to find valuable insights.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Todd A. | Senior UI/UX Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The larger user base and easy interface are my favorite features.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I can't think of anything that I dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Go for it. They have the right feature set and it's easy to use.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to pre-test messaging and UI before we launch them into production. UserTesting makes it easy to find participants without a lot of effort. Easy to to get quick results.

  ### 39. High quality service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marek W. | Owner / Photographer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I liked how easy it was to set up and how accurate and beneficial the results were.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There was nothing I disliked was a very useful service.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

I recommend the service.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Was doing testing for school project about the ease of use of a client's site. It helped to get an outside point of view of the user experience of the site.

  ### 40. Great user experience platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikos A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

The large pool of testers, free replacements, great insights

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Switch from pay-to-go model to monthly payments

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

UserTesting is the leader in video consumer feedback.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Feedback on user experience issues affecting conversion rate optimization.

  ### 41. Like magic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul H. | User Experiance Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Usertesting is a great platform for remote user testing. It has a really nice UI for study creation and its customer account staff are delightful to work with. They have enabled my company to do much more user testing than would be possible through in person recruitment alone.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

The biggest downside to UT.com is their user cohort seemed very attenuated to click-and-do sorts of studies, so if we deploy a study that requires some pointed thought or critical feedback, we have to account for slowing participants down in the study design. UT.com's help staff is helpful but not exceptionally so, they will fix issues promptly but generally do not give advice.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

The comparison I do every year is the cost of setting up a lab and recruiting the same number of participants vs how much it would cost to do the same amount of testing in UserTesting. If your company is just a starting out in their user experience practice or is trying to integrate UX work into an agile development framework, UserTesting can give amazing results very quickly. If your company has an established UX testing framework, UT still might be able to help you do more studies, faster, but you might need different capabilities.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using UserTesting as a platform has allowed my company to double the number of tests we run to evaluate our internal projects every year. In some cases this has put valuable information in the hands of the business quickly about a proposed product, in other cases it has been used as the first qualitative step of larger, more strategic research projects.

**Official Response from Sterling Jackson:**

> Thank you for your delightful review! We think it's a great platform too :-) Amazing results. Quick turnaround. Better value. Yes, that's what we aim for. Glad to see you're experiencing that at your company.

  ### 42. Great tool for improving UX

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul S. | User Experience Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Overall workflow.
Ability to test multiple ideas with customers and get valuable data point.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Restricted number of test participants to 15.
A/B testing with same group of participants.
Transcribe can be better.
End summary.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Pricing is expensive considering competition. But ease of use is is better.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vetting initial concepts with customers.
Getting data point and comparing options.
Data points for leadership meetings.

  ### 43. Great experience using user testing!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I like how fast and easy it is to launch quick usability testing studies in user testing. There are a ton of great resources on the site to help you set up tests, and I always find user testing's staff very quick and responsive to my questions. The quality of the participants are good too.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

There needs to be a larger Alberta sample in the panel, and I also dislike the quality of the transcriptions - they are pretty poor. I also wish you could set quotas for how many of each group of participants you can use in a test.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to make our new mobile app experience better for our customers!

  ### 44. Great options for companies, few opportunities for users.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Very easily get connected to users who match the demographic profile you are looking for. A low cost way to send small surveys and have have more confidence that you are hiring the best users for your study. The app and entire ecosystem make it really easy to use the platform, inspiring confidence in the user test results themselves. Additionally it makes it easy for a company to operate either remotely or with team members spread across the country.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

On the user side, you spend significant effort filling out surveys for free and hoping to be selected. This leads to fatigue and a decrease in answer quality which can impact the selection process. It is harder dealing with subjects that are so well trained to be talking through what they are doing and thinking. In practice this means that frequently you end up with trained user testers and there is limited exposure to users who are using this type of technology for the first time.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Give it a try the trial is excellent

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting connected to users who are most like our user population without having to treat customers as lab rats. Fundamentally we are looking to explore which designs / experiences will resonate best with our customers and work to change their behaviours. This is only possible by exploring many paths in a low fidelity way. Usertesting makes it really easy to scale the number of paths we are working on because we don't need to worry about managing a recruiting pool or tapping it dry too early in the project.

  ### 45. A great remote tool for fast research

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Tests have a fast turnaround and it's great to recruit qualified users so quickly

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Most of their business model is charging you for quality of life / convenience updates. A base package may limit your users, and for a LOT more money you get a couple more people. This can be frustrating when all you need is something small like one more admin user.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Learn UserTesting's limitations. It's not great with linear prototypes. You need to screen carefully if your users are niche.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UserTesting is great for remote unmoderated user tests. It's best for quick feedback on simple concepts.

  ### 46. A No-Brainer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how quickly user tests come back in, and how we can see their screens, and listen to their feedback. I can launch a test at 6pm, and I'll full results back before I get into the office in the morning.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

I would love more opportunities and options to share out results.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

If you are in the user research space, and are looking to streamline the testing process, UserTesting is a no brainer. With accessibility to a huge range of users, it's easy to find or select a panel of users fitting specific criteria. There's really no reason for customer-centric orgs to NOT use UserTesting.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It cuts dev time in half, and our whole design process. I am able to test prototypes without relying on dev to build out multiple options to run A/B tests.

  ### 47. A solid platform for user and usability testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Good recruitment tools and simple to run quick tests

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

Not a good tool for interactive / moderated testing

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Think through your needs for user research before selecting UserTesting versus another product like Lookback. UserTesting is a very good solution for rapid-tempo, asynchronous testing. Other platforms are better for really deep usability research that requires real-time interaction.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it's a great platform for getting rapid feedback on usability and overall value of new products features. When you have a clear set of questions that can be answered through unmoderated, self-guided experiences, it's the simplest and best solution

  ### 48. Team Is Satisfied With UserTesting!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2019

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

Our team is overall really satisfied with UserTesting. We did a robust audit of every tool on the market and landed back at UserTesting because it was deemed the easiest to use and fastest for recruitment.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

It is the most expensive tool that we considered.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use UserTesting for prototype testing, concept testing, and general usability testing.

  ### 49. UT Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

1. access to wide array of users
2. templates for tests
3. automation of steps and deployment

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

UI is a confusing.
- templates are buried three steps in
- a simple 'save' functionality to reassure you after you have created a test.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- validating new features
- understanding old features
- user sentiment
- using data to back up design direction

  ### 50. Great way of getting quick, reliable feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2020

**What do you like best about UserTesting?**

I love how quick the feedback cycle is. Using other channels/methods of validating ideas/designs can take much longer and delay project or company direction.

**What do you dislike about UserTesting?**

UserTesting can be on the more expensive side compared to other tools on the market. However, I firmly believe this investment will pay for itself as long as it becomes part of your product design cycle.

**Recommendations to others considering UserTesting:**

Don't let cost deter you, it's an investment and a tool that will become invaluable.

**What problems is UserTesting solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How do users interact with the product, what are their main pain points, does the intended solution solve these pain points.
