What I like best about Ultimaker Cura is that it is easy to use and still yet powerful in it's more detailed tool selections (or printing settings). I am new to 3D printing. I was introduced to this slicer program by our resident 3D Printing Club teacher (club sponsor). We are currently using a Qidi Tech X-one-2 printer and their slicer was not as easy to use and function (get working) as this Ultimaker Cura. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Ultimaker Cura? I wish it was easier to change or select views using my MacBook Air's trackpad. I like the view options at the top of the window (the 3D box view options in dark/black), but I also like rotating and zooming in and out with a trackpad, but the trackpad functionality is not as easy and useful. I think if I was using a mouse it may be easier, but no proof of that yet. I've seen other 3D modeling software that it seems easier to rotate and zoom in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Ultimaker Cura: I have no recommendations to others considering Ultimaker Cura, because I have not used other alternative slicer programs at length (or long enough) to give you a valid or thorough comparison of Cura to others. In our public middle school, my students are first creating student nameplates for themselves (or a teacher) as our intro (or initial) 3D modeling and printing project. Our 2nd project will be a useful tool, like a pencil caddy or fidget spinner (buster) for fellow students (not themselves, but some other student) and their teachers. Then after some tutorial learning about 3D modeling basics, our 3rd project will to see how we can use the 3D printer as a community service, like 3D printing bag or tools hook or baskets for elderly walkers.
