What I like most about Trello is how simple it is. I don’t have to spend a lot of time learning the tool before I can actually start using it. Creating boards, adding cards, moving tasks through different stages, and keeping everything organized all feels very straightforward.

I’ve mainly used Trello to track smaller pieces of work and personal to-dos, rather than managing large projects. The drag-and-drop board layout makes it easy to get a quick view of what’s pending, what’s in progress, and what’s already finished. For individual planning or smaller teams, that level of visibility is usually all I need.

I also appreciate that I can add checklists, attachments, comments, and due dates without the board starting to feel cluttered or overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For straightforward task management, I think it’s great. But as soon as a project grows larger—especially with lots of dependencies and more formal reporting needs—it can start to feel a bit limited. That’s usually the point where I’d move over to something like Jira.

I’ve also noticed that when a board has hundreds of cards, tracking down older items can take longer unless everything is labeled and organized consistently.
