**What do you like best about Trainual?**

The best part for me about Trainual is the thought and planning they have obviously put into their implementation process. The implementation specialist we worked with listened closely to our 'story' and provided us with the direction and support that met our needs without overwhelming us. The format of the training was logical and easy to follow. I especially appreciated the immediate follow up emails detailing what we reviewed and describing the next steps. The resources she recommended were appropriate and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

We struggled a bit with the Group concept. It is much more flexible than we realized!

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most importantly, Trainual is giving all employees immediate online access to our handbook instead of looking for a paper copy that may not be current. 

Trainual is providing a consistent new hire onboarding/orientation process; an online document for our handbook that includes quizzes to check for understanding; and a place for our standard operating procedures to ensure consistency across our locations.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

Honestly? I like how easy Trainual is to use when creating content for employees to review for training and on-boarding. The set up is easy to follow and Trainual provides multiple ways and resources to help you get started with creating a strong library of trainings for your organization. Their customer service is top notch and the on-boarding specialist who helped us set everything up was responsive when we had questions.

I really like how I can hyperlink to previous trainings, such as our core values, throughout the other trainings that I have created. This really helps with building our brand and integrating our mission and vision throughout our trainings and on-boarding sessions. 

It is also really easy to integrate pictures, funny GIFs (to lighten the training mood), and videos to boost the ways in which our trainings can reach their intended audience.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

My only dislikes of Trainual are around formatting. There is no copy and paste feature and and the system defaults often to preset conditions such as font and size. I spend more time than I would like playing around with these features.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual is allowing us at Nexterra to create interactive, relevant trainings that can be accessed by employees across the country. It is easy to build trainings that are accessible to a wide range of stakeholders within our organization.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

I like using Trainual for my consulting company since 2020 because it serves as a comprehensive platform for training across various topics, recording procedures, and maintaining SOPs while acting as a knowledge repository. I appreciate the ability to capture everything in one place, which streamlines organization, data consolidation, and video recording tasks essential for internal training and onboarding in my new role at the startup. The price point was particularly appealing when starting up. Moreover, the functionality to record directly within the tool, bypassing the need for third-party software like Loom or Vimeo, adds significant convenience. Using Trainual as a centralized hub offers an efficient way to address employee queries regarding our business processes and tools without delay. The integration of the search function also enhances our ability to easily locate necessary information. These features cumulatively make Trainual an effective and valuable tool in our operations, supporting both our training and process documentation needs effectively.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

I found the initial setup process (back in 2020) to be challenging due to the lack of templates , which made mapping training processes difficult. Even now, organizing training by user or team can be confusing without a clear structure, sometimes making it seem like a laundry list. Additionally, I experience difficulties with moving elements freely within the tool, such as shifting content from a subject level to a step or page level. This restricts flexibility in organizing content and can lead to complications when adjustments need to be made.

Trainual serves as a one-stop shop for knowledge sharing, allowing easy access to company processes and tools. It identifies content gaps, streams videos directly, and simplifies search for efficient onboarding and training management.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

I love how easy Trainual was to set up. There was someone assigned to us who helped guide us through the initial stages, making the transition smooth and efficient. This support was invaluable as it allowed us to start using the software without any hitches. I also appreciate how Trainual has significantly streamlined our training processes, eliminating the need to coordinate physical meetings. This feature alone has saved us a tremendous amount of time and effort, enabling people to train at their convenience. Furthermore, having the ability to adjust and update training materials as needed during the learning process is incredibly beneficial. This flexibility ensures that our materials are always up-to-date and relevant. Trainual's ability to facilitate training has helped us get people ready before any face-to-face interactions, greatly reducing administrative workload. Overall, the software allows us to reach and train more people with less effort, effectively meeting our needs. Despite a few minor video formatting issues, I find Trainual to be a very valuable program, which I am very likely to recommend to others, as indicated by my high recommendation likelihood score of 10.

Some of the video formatting is a little confusing.

I use Trainual to save time by allowing remote training, reducing the need to coordinate schedules for in-person sessions, and enabling trainees to learn on their own time. It also saves administrative time and effort.

What I like best about Trainual is how intuitive and effortless it is to add and update content. I have been using Trainual for several years, primarily for onboarding and training, and it has significantly streamlined our ability to onboard new employees and provide structured training paths. I appreciate Trainual's ability to keep all our training materials in one place, ensuring consistency across the board, especially with onboarding. The QR codes are handy for linking directly to specific subjects, and I love that it comes with a very powerful search engine, which makes it easy to find the information I need quickly. The integration with other software, like Loom, further enhances its usage in our workflows. Overall, Trainual has been an invaluable tool for organizing our training processes, and I rate it a ten for recommendation.

The standout feature for me is the built-in GenAI, which streamlines content generation and saves valuable time. I also love the flexibility to add pictures and customize formatting, allowing for visually engaging and tailored materials. While Trainual offers solid functionality, its formatting options fall short of being truly user-friendly. For instance, the inability to copy formatting, such as applying bold text with a specific HEX color, is frustrating—I have to manually input it each time, which slows down the process. Additionally, the content filtering options feel limited and could use more variety to better meet user needs. Most disappointingly, the reporting feature misses the mark. The tabular format lacks visual appeal, and graphical reports would significantly improve usability and insight delivery. These areas need refinement to match Trainual’s otherwise strong offerings.

I like that everything is in one place and easily searchable.

I do not like that you cannot change the order or hierarchy of a subject. Once you create in a space, you cannot move it easily without copying it over to a new spot.

Everything is in one place for us, where prior it was in google sheets, owned by different people, not organized and not always easily searchable.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

There are several aspects of Trainual that are helpful: Search feature, Quizzes within SOP's, ease of use, Trainual University, Customer Support, Organization. I could go on. My favorite part is taking something that is typically a less than thrilling situation (learning an SOP for the first time or relearning an SOP) and makes it interactive and fun. We are a printing company and we decided to onboard Trainual to help keep all of our SOP's in a location that was easily accessible to the team and for us to update as needed. What would have taken time to dig through files and find an SOP, update it, resend it out to the team now takes just a few clicks and it even notifies the team of changes at the click of a button. Overall, if your team is in need of a training and process overhaul, I highly recommend Trainual.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

There really isn't much that I dislike about Trainual. There are a few reporting features that I would love to be added but overall it is a great platform with a very helpful onboarding and Support team. Trainual University is also an amazing resource.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual is assisting us in keeping all of our SOP's in a single location that is easy to access. Before we actually didn't have any policies or procedures written. I was tasked with writing them and about 8 months later I secured the onboarding of Trainual. It is also allowing us to address compliance issues head on. If someone needs a refresh, they can self assign or an administrator can assign for them. Our team has adapted to it very well and is even competing to see who gets the highest scores on quizzes and has the highest completion rate. We have 23 employees and we are currently at a 98% completion rate across the board (one of our teammates is on vacation or we would be at 100%). Our team was a little hesitant as it came to onboarding Trainual at first but once they got started and realized it wasn't just reading a bunch of words on paper, it really became a hit.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

When you think of "making trainiing units" or "courses", the first thought is...ew. Also, that's a lot of work. But Trainual makes it incredibly easy, breaks down the steps, makes adding tests & questions a breeze, & the AI tools are efficiant and super helpful. We've used it for new franchisees within our brand & they love getting the certificates at the end of their units, & it's been a great way to break down all the tools, steps, processes, & policies. I also love that it's easy to drop in gifs, videos, & connect things to each other. 10/10 would reccomend!

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

I only wish I could add even more visual aspects! I"m a super visual person working with a super visual company and wish I had a bit more control on mkaing things pretty. But that's my ONLY problem!

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our franchisees weren't reading through manuals, searching thorugh Drive folders, or really diving into our (extensive) resources. Trainual allowed us to break those things down, make them accessible in a fun way, & it's really helped onboard new franchisees without overwhelming them!

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

Trainual has been an amazing tool to supplement my onboarding process, and a place to store SOPs for employees to reference whenever they need.  With the assistance of Loom videos, I've been able to give a lot of How-Tos so people can have the step-by-steps and video examples so I'm hitting different learning styles.  Love it!

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

Getting the organization of subjects down and assigning them to all the appropriate groups can get tricky. The more content I create, the more I'm worried I'm forgetting something, either I publish and not assign, or I forget a step to make sure the content goes out to the right staff.  It would be great when publishing or "finishing" and drafts that it reminds me to make sure it's assigned.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cutting down on meetings for sure!  Also, reducing the need to repeat trainings over and over again because the learner didn't retain the information needed.  Always something to refer back to now!

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

The most helpful part of Trainual is how it centralizes all of our training and SOPs into one easy-to-access platform. It’s streamlined onboarding, reduced repetitive questions, and ensured consistency across teams. It saves time, holds team members accountable, and makes updates simple as our processes evolve. Plus, the ability to assign roles and track progress gives us full visibility into who knows what—something we were really missing before.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

One downside of Trainual is that the learning experience can feel static compared to more interactive platforms—especially for hands-on or highly visual training. It also takes a fair amount of upfront time to build out content, which can be a challenge for small teams. While the search function is helpful, it can sometimes be tricky to find exactly what you're looking for unless content is very well organized. Lastly, ongoing engagement can drop if team members aren’t actively encouraged to use it beyond onboarding.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual is solving the problem of inconsistent training and scattered documentation. Before, onboarding was time-consuming and relied heavily on one-on-one shadowing. Now, new hires can get up to speed independently and consistently, saving hours of manager time. It’s also helped us capture critical processes so knowledge doesn’t get lost when team members leave. Overall, it’s improved efficiency, accountability, and made scaling our team much smoother.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

It is straightforward to incorporate images, videos, and text into the same template and create step-by-step procedures. The owners of each process can do this. It is very intuitive. I like that we can also incorporate GIF images to make long handbooks less boring and lifeless. We can regularly update our processes and procedures, improving them without the need for complicated paperwork to involve everyone in the changes. The formatting features for text are great, and it is a very complete training tool for any company with multiple procedures.

Flowcharts are not that easy to create, and we had to create images in Canva to upload them to Trainual

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love how effortlessly intuitive Trainual is, right from the get-go.  No instructions were needed to get cracking on creating internally facing documentation--I was just able to begin my process the day that I opened up Trainual. Saving my content was automatic, so I never needed to worry about losing my progress. The ease of updating documentation ensured my content was kept evergreen, and employees loved how easy it as to find what they were looking for. I also love how easy it was to get a hold of support staff when I couldn't' figure out how to add e-signatures to files.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

It's tough to describe any issues with Trainual, since I honestly wish I had this tool in most of my previous job roles. I suppose one downside could be that I wasn't able to include forms in my documents; instead I had to use third-party tools/software which then had to be embedded. Having multiple clicks, which then opened up new windows into a new tool wasn't ideal.

Trainual was solving the problem of 1) having a one-stop location that housed training processes for newly hired employees, freeing up the time and effort of more tenured employees; and 2) retaining steps and processes for posterity and record.

Seriously, it's all in Trainual, from the founding story to company policies and procedures. We've been using Trainual since February 2025, and the only challenge we faced was deciding what to include. The more we thought about it, the more it made sense: put it all in! Trainual’s groups and filters make finding information quick, and having topics, workflows, and knowledge checks all in one searchable place makes daily use a breeze. They’re constantly improving the product, so it feels like getting a free upgrade every so often. Their customer support has never missed the mark. If I ever have a question that isn’t already covered in their support center (which is rare), their team responds right away. With their training courses, implementing Trainual has been easy—it truly elevates our information.

There really isn't much to complain about. If I was being picky, I would like the ability to customize the images that are used in links, but that runs of the metadata so im not sure if there's much that can be done by Trainual.

It's so easy to edit. It's very user friendly. I love that we can create an org chart and it's easy for people to know who they go to for certain issues. I love having processes documented.

I wish my implementation manager checked in more. She really only checked in once and then we never heard from her again. The app itself is wonderful although I wish it had more dual language support.

We can create robust training content and test on it quickly. When we have an issue pop up, we create content quickly and require our team members to sign off on it (if necessary). This allows us to be ahead of challenges instead of behind. As a small business this is a game changer.

We always love to save money and I wish they would incorporate AI more into the search field. But that's not picky, I truly love this.

Document and delegate to your team to do it. it's a pain in the neck to accomplish this but the time saved is invaluable.

Email reminders can be a lot sometimes, especially on Monday morning when reminders went out over the weekend. There are ways to toggle on and off individually, but no universal settings for the various roles.

The platform helps us keep content fresh with automatic reminders when things are outdated, which is a huge help. On top of that, their customer support is truly outstanding—responsive, friendly, and solution-oriented. Their live webinars and training sessions have also been incredibly helpful in getting the most out of the system. Overall, it offers incredible potential for scaling team knowledge and ensuring consistency across roles.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

When searching for something specific, Trainual brings me to the correct topic, but not always to the exact step or section within it. If the information is buried further down, I have to scroll through earlier steps to get to it. I wish there were a way for users to jump directly to a specific step without needing to read everything that comes before it. This would make quick look-ups much more efficient, especially for teams in a hurry.

Training and developing a team always comes with challenges—especially when it comes to keeping information current and accessible. Trainual helps us centralize all of our training content in one place, eliminating the need for team members to dig through multiple sources to find what they need. It makes it easy to update content as things change, and we love that we can assign content ownership so subject matter experts can create and share information directly with the team. This not only saves time but also ensures that our team is always working with the most accurate, up-to-date information.

I like having one spot to organize our company policy and procedures that we can direct our employees to for reference. The templates are helpful and the built in editing tools and suggestions for making the content more digestible are also very helpful. Overall its an easy to use tool. I especially appreciate the frequent updates and enhancements.

The UI for regular users. I rely on their ability to view and navigate the content layout similarly to how it is for an admin. A nice enhancement would be a feature that allows an admin to view  as a regular user to see how things show up on their interface. This option would improve how we organize our content.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without a program like Trainual, we rely on various platforms to store and share information, such as SharePoint. Information can get lost, forgotten about or organized in multiple conflicting ways that become confusing or overwhelming. Having all content in one place, setting up the training order,  assigning content, and notifying (and resetting progress) of new content is all helpful in managing information that I need my employees to access.

The "home page" is busy and feels distracting as the first screen displayed upon login. I always experience a sense of overwhelm when I first see it.

Trainual solved one of our biggest and most complex processes, onboarding! We were using Trello, but that system is not intuitive for our sales people to use and it created a lot of hesitancy. After reading an email newsletter about a plumbing company that used Trainual to streamline their onboarding, we moved our process into Trainual. That was a big "unlock" for us!

Trainual has significantly improved how we document, share, and standardize our AS9100 aerospace processes. It’s become a centralized hub where our staff can easily access the information they need to understand policies, complete training, and reference procedures without relying on verbal handoffs or tribal knowledge. The e-signature functionality is especially valuable, allowing us to verify that employees have reviewed and acknowledged their training, ensuring compliance and accountability.

By turning informal knowledge into formal, structured content, we've been able to create repeatable processes that support consistency and quality across the organization. Trainual has become a daily tool for us, especially impactful during onboarding new hires can engage with both foundational and advanced concepts before hands-on training, which saves time and helps them become productive team members much faster.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

While Trainual is a powerful tool, there are some limitations that become increasingly challenging as an organization scales. As a company with hundreds of trainings across multiple business units and shared services, the lack of a folder or hierarchical structure makes it difficult for admins and content authors to organize and navigate the growing library of content.

We’ve raised this concern through our Trainual point of contact, but the response “Our founder doesn’t believe in folder structures” seems to disregard the needs of larger organizations. That mindset may work for small businesses, but for companies with 300+ employees and complex operational needs, it becomes a serious bottleneck to efficiency and content management. A scalable organization needs scalable structure, and currently, Trainual’s interface doesn’t fully support that.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual has helped us solve one of the biggest operational pain points in manufacturing: capturing and scaling knowledge in a consistent, accessible way. Before Trainual, much of our training relied on tribal knowledge, verbal instruction, or outdated documents buried in shared drives. That made it difficult to maintain compliance, onboard effectively, and ensure process consistency especially across business units and roles with highly technical requirements.

With Trainual, we’ve been able to centralize our AS9100-compliant processes, standard operating procedures, and safety training into structured, searchable modules. It’s streamlined onboarding by allowing new hires to complete foundational and advanced training independently before needing hands-on time. That gives us back valuable time while ensuring that everyone receives the same baseline knowledge.

The ability to verify completion and understanding through e-signatures has also helped us tighten our compliance and accountability, particularly for quality audits and internal reviews. Overall, Trainual empowers our teams with clarity and saves us time, while building a stronger foundation for growth and standardization.
