"Trail Consult Delivered a Smooth, On-Schedule Implementation with Strong Knowledge Transfer"

5/5

What do you like best about Trail Consult Inc?

The way Trail Consult managed the project deserves as much credit as the end result. They scoped the work into clear phases with defined deliverables, making it easy for us to track progress and understand what was coming next. Phase 1 went live as specified, while Phase 2 development has consistently run ahead of schedule. When questions arose, we received direct and timely answers, and the implementation was sequenced so that we were never left without a functioning system during the transition. They also worked closely with our internal administration team rather than around them, ensuring that our people were active participants in the process rather than simply recipients of the finished product.

One of the aspects we value most is that Trail Consult built a system that allows us to operate autonomously. Knowledge transfer was treated as a core deliverable rather than an afterthought. Two members of our team completed hands-on training in the underlying technology stack, including dbt Cloud and GitHub, and are now able to maintain and extend the database independently. The architecture is materially more flexible than our previous system, giving us the ability to adapt and expand it as our needs evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Trail Consult Inc:

We would recommend Trail Consult without hesitation. For any organization managing complex, multi-source data through processes that still depend heavily on manual work and a small number of people, Trail Consult can transform both the underlying infrastructure and the way the team operates day to day. What problems is Trail Consult Inc solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before we engaged Trail Consult, our royalty data lived in a system that required three to four days of manual work to transform raw payor statements into usable, analyzable data. Each statement arrived in a different format, and conforming them required significant hands-on effort from a small number of people. We also relied on data ingestion platforms with limitations on the volume of information they could process at once. As our company and portfolio continued to grow, the existing infrastructure was becoming increasingly cumbersome and difficult to scale.

After working with the Trail Consult team, those constraints have effectively been eliminated. The system they built ingests raw CSV royalty statements from every source into a centralized Google Cloud database, standardizes the data into a single, consistent structure, and refreshes automatically each day. New statements that previously took days to process can now be incorporated into our database within minutes.

This improvement has been hugely valuable to our team. Rather than spending hours maintaining and conforming our internal data, we can respond to investor and diligence-related questions much more quickly and spend more of our time on higher-value analysis. The team members who previously devoted a significant portion of their week to conforming statements can now focus on interpreting the data rather than preparing it. Just as importantly, we now have an infrastructure that is far better positioned to support the continued growth of our company and portfolio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
