"Second-to-None Support and a Straightforward, Time-Saving Certificate Workflow"

What do you like best about Tradecert?

Outstanding customer service.

Whenever we’ve run into an issue, the team have been incredibly quick to respond and genuinely helpful.

When we first started using the software over a year ago, my boss used the online chat at around 10–11pm one evening. Within about 10 minutes, someone had called him directly to help troubleshoot the issue. That pretty much set the tone for the level of support we’ve received ever since.

More recently, we’ve had some exceptionally large certificates from sites that needed transferring onto the system. One of the current certificates is over 500 pages long and covers more than 300 distribution boards.

The team have taken our feedback seriously, listened to what we were asking for and worked with us to make handling certificates of that size far more practical and cost-effective.

The app itself is very straightforward to use. We have someone in the office who is excellent on the admin side but doesn’t necessarily have an electrical background. She’s able to prepare certificates ready for engineers attending site, or build circuit charts from existing certificates ready for the sparks to test against.

Previously — and no shade intended here — the NICEIC software was completely alien to her. Tradecert clicked almost immediately.

From when we first started using Tradecert to where it is now, the AI tools in particular have come on leaps and bounds.

Certificates, especially large ones, could definitely be a grind in the past.

Now, they’ve genuinely become one of the most trivial parts of our workflow. Sometimes I think it takes us longer to motivate ourselves to start inputting or QS’ing a certificate than it does to actually complete it — and that’s probably just a hangover from how time-consuming the old workflow used to be.

But the thing I really can’t stress enough is the customer service. It is second to none.

If it wasn’t, I probably wouldn’t have bothered writing this review. The app on its own would still be a very neat and impressive bit of software, but the support behind it is where these guys consistently shine.

What do you dislike about Tradecert?

I’m genuinely struggling to think of anything I can say I actively dislike about the software.

If I had to pick something, addresses can occasionally pull through a little strangely when setting up new sites/installations. I also sometimes manage to skip over important details like DB names or other information during setup, so it would be handy if there was an easy way to go back and recall or amend those details afterwards.

That said, a fair amount of that is probably user error on my part — I have a habit of going full ADHD, clicking through things too quickly and then realising afterwards that I probably should have been paying more attention 😅 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tradecert solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tradecert has massively reduced the sheer amount of admin and man-hours involved in producing certificates.

Previously, we were either working from paper certificates or manually inputting huge numbers of circuits from older certificates, often while engineers were on site. On larger installations, that could mean entering hundreds or even thousands of circuit details by hand before the actual testing work was properly underway.

Being able to import previous certificates, prepare circuit schedules in advance and then have engineers work directly within the app has taken a huge amount of that repetitive work out of the process.

The time saving is immense. It means our engineers can spend more time actually testing and less time doing data entry, while the office can prepare much more of the certification beforehand.
