What I liked best about Trace was how intuitive and efficient the entire process was. The AI tool did a fantastic job of automatically and accurately categorizing our expenses, which saved our team a massive amount of time and effort. Because Trace utilizes spend-based data to calculate the footprint, collaborating with our Finance team to gather the necessary information was incredibly straightforward. Ultimately, the platform summarizes complex data in a very friendly, visual way, making it easy for us to understand our impact and share those insights internally. The main area for improvement is the data gathering and upload process, which requires specific formatting and occasionally some time consuming data cleaning on our end. Additionally, when manually entering activity data (like electricity bills), it can be easy to accidentally create duplicate entries, though our Account Manager was great at helping us identify them. As a forward looking feature request, we’d love to see Trace develop a comprehensive method to calculate the specific impact of AI tools, as the standard spend-data method doesn't quite cover this complex area.
